kind of excited to see clowney and edwards play together. dont get me wrong cotchery is a rock but i wanna see what these two will do. are we gonna bring marcus henry off the practice squad or pick up a street free agent. im not even sure whos still out there. hank baskett got picked up by the colts, and i seriously doubt matt jones would sign on for one game.
Agree I think this is a chance for Clowney to shine and surpass Brad Smith on the depth Chart. His speed alone should loosen things up. So far he has not dropped manny passes (the few in his direction) and this is a shot for us to go down the field in a big way. I say if he performs well move Brad Smith down or try to trade him before the deadline.
With those 2 possibly out, we should take this opportunirty to get the ground game working. Our stats were ok for the Miami game, but with our 3 backs we should be much better than that. we know Edwards will work out good and I feel Clowney should get in the mix pretty well also. I guess my point is, they won't hand the key to the team over to Clowney this week, but instead try to jump start the pieces that haven't worked out according to plan. That would be the 3 tiered running game, and the TE Keller.
Hold onto Brad Smith, you won't get anything for him in a trade but he can make plays. He's a good athlete that can make people miss in the open field. His hands suck but you guys saw on that fake punt and that screen earlier in the game he made really nice plays and he's a good guy to have on end arounds as well
Aundrae Allison i wished we had him back for this game. This guy has extremelly quick speed, and looked very good in the preseaon
Buffalo's run defense is one of the worst in the league. We shouldn't be worrying about who our 2nd receiver is if Cotch is out. Either the Bills overload the box to stop the run and we have those two free and clear or they give them the attention they deserve and we take advantage of the poor run defense. Of course, all of this is pure speculation since neither Cotch nor Smith has been definitively ruled out. The thread title and OP are awfully misleading.
Especially against a team with I think the 29th run defense in the league. Whatever happened to ground and pound??
I think we'll see a tons of runs and short passes. The weather is supposed to be total dog shit from what I heard. Rainy, chilly, windy...plus Sanchez had some trouble with a wet ball against Tenn. Run, run, and then run some more. Long drives and tough defense. If the weather is terrrible I wouldnt mind seeing a 40+ carry game from the backs. That is with the assumption they can get it going. I'd like to see Clowney get involved in that Seminol bullshit they do too. Putting him and Leon out there at the same time makes the D account for a ton of speed.
All i can say is thank god we got Edwards. The problem is that with Cotchery out he'll probably be doubled every play. I think Clowney will step up in a big way. Wallace Wright--I was surprised to see that he had six catches back in 2007. I just hope he hasn't forgotten how to play receiver since then. I don't think I've seen him on offense this whole season, but I may be wrong.
