    Hey...

This is NOT T-BirdJet, it's me, Section 227, Row 5. I'm sitting on T-Bird's computer while T-Bird is taking a leak.

I was going to write all kinds of nasty stuff and tell you all to get over here to camp so I could meet you in person and kick your ass, but I figured T-Bird would see the post later and never invite me over to his house again. Besides, he already stirs up enough shit and doesn't need any more.

Anyway, we're over here in Hempstead with 1028 and Kurt, throwing down some brews and enjoying the A/C in between the 2-A-Days. I got here from Jersey at 8:30 and we all met up in the bleachers. These are a great bunch of guys and no doubt you'll be hearing from them after the second practice.

It was 90 degrees this morning at 8AM fellas. It's well over a 100 now and probably still climbing, but we're all hanging in there and enjoying the TC. So far I'm impressed with two things: Kellen Clemens is the real deal. And Mangini is running a camp like I never saw last year. We watched practice for over 2 1/2 hours and it was total kick-ass. No let up. You wouldn't believe the spirit in these guys though, despite the heat. Mangini must have dangled some kind of carrot because at the end of practice, they did a simulated goal-line stand and after knocking themselves out and and playing their guts out, the noise level from the players cheering was still unbelievable. These Jets are ringing wet out here... dog tired, and still have a ton of esprit de corps.

I'll let Kurt and 1028 and T-Bird fill you in later, but this practice is awesome in this heat. Can't wait to get back over there at 5:30 and I'm not kidding! We're all enjoying the practice immensely! Later guys...

Looking forward to the reports. Enjoy !!!!!

  3. I thought I'd follow the thread since im here and wont have comp. access when i get to my hotel.

Practice is great and there is an energy i havent seen since the Parcells era.

I promised id give some insight on the Ol so here ya'll go.

    - Ferguson is much bigger than he was the day we drafted him..and he is a keeper. He needs some work on his technique, but his arms are so long it doesnt even matter. He recovers immediately and swallows the given pass rusher. I will however, give BT credit, who has looked good and managed to get around the corner on Brick during a pass rush drill.

    - Jones is also much bigger and much stronger. I may have been wrong about him not being a good fit at RT..as he looks pretty good and very comfortable at the spot. He handled Ellis pretty well on a few occassions. I'd still like to see him add some more pop in the running games, but thatd be true for the entire OL.

    - As for the youngsters:

Nick Mangold: Great quickness off the ball and looks comfortable, but he needs to get stronger against the bull rush. That will come w/ time.

Ed Blanton: He has great size and decent technoique but his feet are not there. He got beat easily around the corner on more than one occassion.

Issac Snell: I stand by what I said originally: He has a chance to beat out Moore at RG. He is incredibly athletic and looked very good pulling on acouple screens.

Steve Morley: Some decent size and strength but looks like purely a back-up...and at guard, not Tackle.

All and all the Ol looks much better than it did last year, and once these guys learn technique alil better...we're gonna have a heckuva line.

    Other notes

    - Rhodes looked very fluid and comfortable in coverage

    - Cedric Houston looked like a true feature back, and if he stays consistent, could be the answer. He is much quicker to the hole this year and hasnt lost any of his power

    - D rob did a pretty good job of collapsing the pocket

    - Clemmens has a real presence about him, and he has an awfully quick release. I now believe he will be opening day starter

Well thats about it. Good times over this way as 227, 1028 and Tbird are all great guys. Anybody who wants to stop by and chill w/ us at the 530 practice is welcome!

Clemens the opening day starter? WHY THE HELL NOT. This is the New York Jets and dammit we need to move that black cloud that has been flying over this organization for years.

P.S Great job reporting have a cold one me.

Nice report Kurt. Was AJ the starting RT? If so, any word on Anthony Clement?

Hearing a lot of good things about Kellen, can't wait to see him in a preseason game...

    1028's turn...

Well, I dont really feel like reporting anything on the players progress...

But I will report two rumors that were reported to me...

    1) Pouha is out for the year with a torn ACL
    2) Martin is retiring this year

Now then, you can take em or leave em, believe it or not, I dont really care, but I trust this source. Hes been right before, and I trust hell be right this time...

Kurts says that Clement looked like a decent backup, but hes nowhere near as what athletic or mobile as Jones is

I wonder if they refer to each other by usernames when they meet in person. Thunder and Section for short.

Little does TBIRD know that when he got up to use the bathroom, Section ordered a bunch of naked movies on pay per view and took a dump in the pool...

These bassads. Ate me outta house and home they did. 1028 was good for 6 burgers and 3 hot dogs alone. Drinks like a fish too.... but left the beer alone. He might have met an early demise otherwise.

"Section" is showing us his ball now. It's a very nice ball, indeed. Kurt wants to be pressed up against the Jets linemen, me thinks.... I wonder when he comes out of the closet.

When Mangini was closing practice, it was the O agaisnt the D in 4th and goal from the two. I don't know what the reward was, but these guys wanted it... bad. The D was hootin and hollerin when they stopped Blaylock. Then Houston goes into the pile on the next play. Ref signals a TD. mangini comes over, and I GUESS playfully grabs him by the collar. The ref pulls away, signals TD again, and Mangini waves it off.... over ruling the ref. The D starts jumping up and down, screaming, hollering.... never saw a practice like this one. They ran a couple more plays, the D held.

Jolley still has the best TC hands on the team. I think they fall off during games.

Adrian Jones is bigger this year. I hope Pouha is OK, but although 1028 won't reveal his source, I think it's solid. Martin retiring.... well, I actually don't think it will hurt the team, but it's a rough way for a HoF legend to go out.

I think they are in the fridge again.... I better go check.

    It's me, Section 227 again...

Rumors of me defecating in T-Bird's pool are totally unfounded. Urination, maybe, but don't tell him. And now he's inspecting my ball. The guy is just plain jealous I tell you.

But I'll tell you guys what, the stuff they've been saying about this coach being serious is all true. There is absolutely NO comparison between this camp and Herm's last year. I got here at 8:30 and there were some players already on the field. We kept thinking the practice had to end soon... 10:45 they're still going. 11:00... more drills. 11:15 (had to be 105)... still going. Finally, after 11:20-11:25... they finally headed for the showers. Over 2 1/2 hours on this heat! Some of the players were on the field for 3 hours!
