Browns | Wimbley reaches contract agreement in principle
    Sat, 22 Jul 2006 11:20:30 -0700

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Cleveland Browns have reached a contract agreement in principle with first-round draft pick LB Kamerion Wimbley. The contract could be signed later Saturday, July 22, and would ensure the Browns will have their first-round pick in training camp on time. Wimbley will sign a six-year contract with a maximum of value of $23.7 million and $9.3 million in guarantees. The deal will void to five years provided Wimbley reaches predetermined playing time thresholds, with the Browns having the right to buy back the voided year by paying Wimbley a sizeable bonus.

I don't think you get to sign elsewhere, I think you go back in the draft and someone else gets to draft your rights.

Yes he goes back in the draft.
No he doesn't go back to college. When you declare for the draft you forfit your remaining eligibility so if you go undrafted you are S.O.L. Furthermore, even if he could go back to college, his endorsement deals nullified his amateur status. However, that brings up the point that he is taking in enough money now to live on his own without having to collect game checks.
He would spend the next year in football purgatory similar to what Mike Williams did after he failed to get into the draft.

I don't think he is pissed off, I think he is delusional. Ya know? I think there was so much hype around him and so many people telling him that he was definitely going #1, tabbing it the "Reggie Bush Sweepstakes" that in his heart and in his mind he believes he is the true #1 pick and Mario Williams was a fluke or an accident and still believes ebyond a shadow of a doubt that he deserves #1 money and deserves more than Mario even though he wasn't selected #1.

Only cure I can think of for that is going across the middle against Ray Lewis or Roy Williams
