Seriously, sometimes his decisions leave you scratching your head but he wins a silly amount of the time. I'm guessing in 5 years the Mets have 2 world series wins and Willie has his foot firmly in the hallf of fame based on his combined contributions as a player and manager.
Managers have little if anything to do with a team's success. I'd give Omar Minaya alot more credit for the success of the Mets lately then Willie. Remember the 05 White Sox, they were able to win the WS with a deranged lunatic managing the team.
I could be mistaken, ansd I apologize if I am...but aren't you the same guy who had the "Willie has now cost the Mets ____ games" in your sig last season? if this is the case, I always take issue with people who are inconsistent in their view of a coaches impact (many Ranger (NHL) debates on this lately)....just makes me think that some people have personal things against some coaches and blame them for failures, and give others credit for success but again, i might have you confused with someone else
No that was me. I don't think it will be making a return this year though. Sometimes the "right" decision turns out to be wrong and the "wrong" decision turns out to be right. And when you have a very talented roster like the Mets have your team can recover from alot more "wrong" moves from the manager.
