I know it's WAY early to speculate, especially since we do NOT even have an HC, but I'm curious what the thoughts are on this. Cap room?

We don't have the cap space to sign any big name FA's this year.

I would love that...him opposite of Revis would give OCs nightmares about our CBs. I don't think we have the cap room, but maybe if we don't give Jeff Garcia $5 million to come here and just let Clemnens, Ratliff and Ainge battle it out we might have the money.

If we dump Favre, it frees up $ 13 million in cap space. To me, it's an easy decision to make a run at Nmogi and say goodbye to Brett.

Ron Bartell had a very good season, but not many people know it because he played for the Rams.
I believe he will be a free agent, but I don't know what type- restricted or unrestricted. A Revis and Bartell tandem would be excellent.

You could have all the money to go after N Asomugha and it wouldn't matter Raiders will be using the franchise tag. JUets get Rex Ryan. Goodbye Lowery. Hes too slow to play Cb in Rex system.

we don't have enough cap space every year

if tanny is good at something, it's the cap, we always end up in a decent position to do a few things

what he does with that space he creates is another thing

Raiders' will probably franchise him because they're dumbasses. They don't have the money. He'll likely hit the market next year. Let's say however that he does hit free agency, the Jets simply do not have the money to sign Nnamdi, and that would be alot of money tied into the secondary, Rhodes, Nnamdi and probably a new contract coming from Darrelle in the near future.

Yeah i doubt we will be signing anyone that big this year, if i had to take a guess i would say their could be one big signing and even then i doubt it will be for the secondary.

Well see though, I'm sure the only thing on everyones mind is the HC position.

If we sign Ryan I could see taking a run at Scott to pair w/ Harris in the middle. I think Ray Lewis will be alot more expensive and the Ravens have him and Suggs to worry about.

Here a prediction N Asomugha has as much chance of being a Jet, as Lowery a capable starting CB. Not happening. Rex Ryan is the coach you can kiss Lowery goodbye.

We won't be signing this guy. I guarantee it.

Tanny will get us in a decent position to sign some guys and hopefully lock up Leon, but he's not going to blow the whole wad an another top corner. No way, no how.

But he was a fourth round steal. Not. The guy was a liability last year in coverage. Sorry son this isn't college ball. Your lack of speed going to get exposed in the pro game. Teams picked on him so much that they were forced to sign a hasbeen CB in Ty Law. Jets better get some Cbs if they want to improve that 28 ranked pass defense.

GO look it up last year I predicted Jets would have trouble stopping the pass. I said Jets didn't have LBs to cover. Sometimes I amaze myself.

I think we do. Doesn't the cap go up to 123 million and we were out 110 or something with Favre? But we won't be spending it on a CB. Not to mention Oakland will franchise him anyway I would think.

A pass rush would raise that rank more than a #2 CB.

Lowery hasn't been terrible, he's just been your standard 4th round pick. Maybe he was just given too much responsibility right now and will be better next year. I fully believe this team RIGHT NOW has the talent to go back to the playoffs.
