I believe we now have 4 QBs on the roster. Will the Jets really draft a QB after trading to get Ramsey, reworking Pennington's contract and still having Fiedler and Bollinger on the roster at this point? If they do go after a QB, Cutler performed unbelievably at the combine and Leinart didn't even show. Was there a reason he didn't? I guess he had more to lose by showing and not performing well vs showing and falling flat. It looks like the Titans may be seriously interested in Cutler after the combine. That would leave Young and Leinart as the two remaining top tier QBs. I am not satisfied that either are going to be great NFL QBs. I think we may be better off sticking with our draft order and taking either Mario or D'Brick at 4 and see who falls as the day progresses. Thoughts?
It would take no more than a flick of the wrist to cut Bolly. I think they are not counting on Chad to play well (and if he does, great). Ramsey is a stop gap starter next season (assuming he beats out Chad), and a QB will be drafted in April to start in 2007.
I didn't realize he was cut. If we do draft a QB and cut Bollinger, there will be no QB on the roster who has an in-game experience with the Jets other than Pennington who will not be ready to play in September. Is this a comfortable situation for anyone especially if our OL isn't bolstered?
