My friend is taunting me that the Jets are a lock for Vince Young. Im assuming hes an idiot and that Tennessee will take him Any truth to the VY to this NY thing?
While Tennessee isn't a lock to take him I would be willing to bet they take him at 3. If Vince Young fell I still am not too sure of what the Jets would do to be honest. I would love Vince personally. Tell your friend to cool it.
its not a lock that Young will fall to us at 4 but it could happen. So if hes there at 4 i think well take Vince Young which is what I would do.
PLEASE! FALL TO US YOUNG! PLEASE! IMO young is the best player in the draft (yes better than bush). FALL TO US YOUNG!
If Young was on the board at #4, I couldn't get the card to the podium fast enough. IMO he's not only the best QB in the draf he's the best player in the draft.
for all this talk of culter, of the two top tier QB's (of the three) in this draft if I have to have one with a wierd delievery, I'd take the winner over the guy who hasn't done much in college...winning traslates
If were hell bent on replacing Chad THIS year, than we simply draft best QB available. If Young drops, then it has to be him. But again, like Ive said before, Id give Penny one more year to prove himself and go from there...
I really hope Tennesse takes him as well, I think he is getting way over hyped and isn't going to be the best NFL QB in the draft. Leinhart or Cutler seem to have the NFL tools if you ask me
I dont think hell be a bust...just that he has alot of work in front of him. Hell need to sit a few years but hey, Ill take him over Cutler ANY DAY
I wouldn't draft Young unless he fell to the middle of the first round or later. He's got bust written all over him. Jake Plummer also looked great in the Rose Bowl.
Ding Ding Ding we have a winnnnnnner. Cade McNown benefited greatly from a great college system as well... Vince and his shot-arm throwin style is a joke...Learning to take snaps under center, sitting in the pocket, reading NFL defenses...He won't be a starter until 2009, and even still he's a major question. #4 overall pick on a question? I give Mangini alot more credit than that.
Vince Young is Ben Reothlisberger with speed. Like Ben, Young has poise. As long as he has poise, he'll be able to concentrate and make good decisions on the field and minimize his mistakes; unlike Michael Vick who flails at the first sight of a defender. It will take a year for him to learn, but Young could be special.
This guy is not gonna work in the NFL... Matt Leinart is the most coveted guy to me...He knows all about being a pocket-passer, he can read defenses, he can check down to his 2nd and 3rd options... The most NFL Ready QB to me since Peyton Manning...He'll have his bumps, but Leinart is gonna be special, not Young.
I've changed a little on Vince Young. He's got the tools to be a star. I wouldn't touch him because he's so raw and there's no way to tell if he can make the transition. But he is a great athlete and he's got some skills. He's big, he's strong, he's fast. But when you run a system where you basically look at your first option and then run, I wouldn't touch him. Besides, Young's running style is more like running over people, which you can't do much in the pros.
Eh, and I think Leinart is going to be the bust and Young will truly be special. I would truly be overjoyed if Young fell to us, but I assume NFL scouts and teams will rank Young as highly as I do, and he'll be gone and this will be moot.
