Something is happening with that kid that the Jets are staying wery wery quiet on. While I appreciate the silence, it does speak to their vetting processes regarding questionable players they hope to bring in for a boost. Evidently that process is still a work in progress.

There's a guy on this site that explained with good detail and was very convincing that he's almost certainly in rehab right now. The Jets aren't talking because they're trying to stop feeding the media circus.

I'm convinced that is the case until someone tells me otherwise.

Yeah, I'm saying "yes" because of this and because the Jets would have cut him by now if he weren't going to be a contributor.

It sucks, I think he and ivory would have been great together.

As long as they come back for the regular season (which I think they will anyway), it's all good.

I'm not sure what the deal is...but they must REALLY think he can contribute to go through all this. Whether it be rehab or whatever. To potentially cut a useful player in the hopes that he will be productive is a pretty huge vote of confidence...not to mention a shot in the dark.

Honestly, I chose the "Who cares he won't play this year." He has missed all OTA's, all preseason etc... MAYBE they get him in later on in the year...maybe not.

The Jets got Braylon Edwards, a skill position player, a quarter into the 2009 season. He ended up being a primary player for the Jets making the deep post season.

I don't get people that think a potential 3rd down RB missing camp is this huge disadvantage. From a playbook perspective, RBs have the easiest transition into an offense.

Two things people put way more stock into than they should: The Super Bowl, and training camp.

didn't he play during OTA's? I remember hearing he at least came to a few and did well.

I'll have to dig...I went by memory and thought he didn't but it's possible.

My reference to OTA's and Training camp is more for the playbook than anything else.

Yes, he did participate in some OTA's, even remember hearing something about him taking a dump off pass 60+ yards or so for a TD. He is explosive, and we need that time of big playmaking ability.

I'm not worried about him missing camp, I'm worried he may never play a down for us.

    I'm really not.

If it happens, I'm wrong, but the silence around him speaks more to me about a legal obligation that can't wait than it does about something the Jets don't know about and will get screwed for afterwards.

I hope he comes back and has success both on and off the field.

Is goodson anything, but a fast back? Why'd the raiders get rid of him?
