The Jaguars go and pull a play right out of the Raiders Playbook, trying to High Dollar Raid Joey Porter with the most dead presidents...and lo' and behold matey, he walks a big fat plank all season (raiderstyle)...now he may return to his former team with the dough, and play ball for a few years on the cheap. Proving that even the Raiders, get Raidered *ahem* Raided.
If they do get him back, I'd love to see the posts where Jeaux praises Porter prior to Shell, next to the posts where he trashes Porter when he left to the Jags, next to the spin posts about how Porter will be the missing ingredient to at least 2 of the Raiders Super Bowl Championship runs that he predicts will take place within the next 5 years.
Actually Its a very smart signing if it happens. First J Porter after signing that big contract had surgury and missed all the camps and preseason. The guy just wasn't healthy last year. Lets look why Porter makes sense. 1. First Raiders will rely heavily on their running game. J Porter at 6'2 220 is a very good run blocker. 2. J Porter is a very nice target for Russell(gives Russell another option to go with their stud Te Zach Miller. 3 J Porter is playing for a contract. 4. Gives raiders at least one veteran WR as they have alot of young inexperience Wrs.
Cotchery has the better numbers than Porter and has done more the last couple of years. Not to mention has been alot more durable than Porter. So yes you have to say Cotchery has been better reciever. Only thing going against cotchery in that matchup is he offers nothing as a big play reciever. More of a possessin reciever.(nothing wrong with that if you have a explosive WR opposite him)
Thats not true. HE was a big reason why Callahan took Gruden same offense and made it the best offense in football. Raiders went from two Te formations, to three wr sets. LIke Randy Moss showed in Oakland, a Wr is always depended on a QB and a Oline . Without those two it really dosen't matter how good a Wr is. Signing J Porter If it happens is a very good move. Shouldn't be that expensive and has a chance to pay big dividends.
