i think the only thing to this is how much of the share of the backfield does he get. I expect 1k all purpose yards regardless, but rushing will entirely depend on the rotation.
Back in 2020, there wasn't a whole lot of positives but toward the end of the season Gase finally figured out that he had a pretty good ground game by running Ty Johnson and Josh Adams through the left side with Becton and newly acquired Pat Elflein. Becton did okay as a pass blocker his rookie year, but I think he excelled as a run blocker. It's pretty hard for a defense to stop a 360 lb tackle. If Becton can regain that form along side AVT, and now with Carter and Hall to run through those holes, the Jets should have a pretty exciting ground game. A 1000 yd season for one of those two is not out of the question.
Definitely possible. Even with sharing carries with Carter, it's a 17 game schedule. 1000 is not what it used to be. AVT/ Mekhi on the right side have a chance to become devastating.
One only needs to look at Breece's college numbers and watch some highlights to see what kind of impact he can possibly have on our offense. He can loosen up the opponents defense by being a double threat running or receiving.
I watched his entire career. I like the player but I never got the feeling that he was going to hold up in a long NFL season as bell cow because he’s a bit lanky and runs pretty high. With that being said, I’m happy with the pick. We’ve needed to draft a runningback in round two and feed them the rock for over a decade rather than this mid round scatter the carries bullshit we’ve been doing for too long.
Yeah I get the running "pretty high" thing.... but he did handle the load in college. He's a high quality player that would have been a much higher draft pick if the position wasn't so devalued in recent years. I think he'll prove to be a problem for our opposing teams defense.
Half said he sucked. The other half claimed he was The One. Now we have to overpay for talent or Zach probably won't survive the season in one piece and Breece won't come near 1000yds. Doesn't really matter who's right or wrong. The Jets' 2022 season now depends on how quick they can get a new guy up to speed on the OL.We have the Ravens in 30 days more or less and they're not gonna feel sorry for Becton or the Jets.
I think it’s time for this young man to get 20+ touches a game. I liked Michael Carter coming out but Hall is by far the better player and has explosive play potential on every snap. Hall finally owned the snaps today. Let’s keep it rolling. Feed him.
Breece looks tentative... like he's waiting for blocks to develop that just aren't. They would if we had even an average OL...
No doubt that Breece Hall could be the steal of the draft. 197 total yards. 97 rushing 100 receiving. 1 TD. The draft choices are coming through.
The elites must look at 1,500 all purpose yards with double digit TDs. 1,000 receiving or rushing is pretty standardish from teams top options these days. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
