The Leonard Williams drop is starting to look like the luckiest thing that's happened to the Jets in a long time.

Doesn't sound like too much of a problem but I'd still take it very slowly. Bowles says he might be able to get out there Tuesday if he's ready, I'd give him a couple practices to a week off. He doesn't really need these practices and hamstring injuries linger if you don't give them time to fully heal. The last thing we need is a hurt Mo Wilk.

If it was a guy like Leonard or Mauldin who needs all the reps he can get to adjust to playing in the NFL and the new defense, then you could justify trying to get him back on the field as quickly as you can, especially for the preseason games. But what does a veteran defensive lineman gain from August? Not much really. The risk of him being out there outweighs the reward imo.

That's a little excessive, isn't it? Bowles wants the team to be in much better condition. The only way they're gonna get that way is out there in the heat working at practice. While I don't want them to rush Mo back, hopefully a few days to a week max will be enough. We need him in the same hardened shape as the rest of the unit.

Probably. I don't like hamstring injuries though. They tend to linger and get aggrevated if they aren't completely healed before pushing it.

And we've all seem them linger for weeks when a player keeps rushing back onto the field... I'd like to see the Jets move very cautiously on this.

This is probably a contract-related hamstring tweak ala Revis a few years back...

I'm thinking Mo doesn't want the Jets worrying about a nagging injury at this point after the turf toe last year. The NFL is a nasty business and injury-prone players don't get a lot of guaranteed money the way they do in other sports at times.

Wilkersons hamstring is 0-4 at bringing the VLT to the NYJ.
