Does anybody have any clue why we ran so much wildcat today? It had to be close to ten plays, with very little success, which is probably more than we've run it all season. Thoughts?

Dunno. Skins are tough up front so I guess he thought if we wanted a good run game we might have to use some more trick run plays.

wildcat sucks. if the offense is struggling then fine...but we ran it a lot early when there was no need for it. we were good on offense in the 1st half, we just had limited opportunities.

Does anyone have a clue what the wildcat actually is? We didn't run the actual wildcat formation a single time today.

As much as you are correct, you know what they are asking.

Basically why is Kerley lining up at qb/Greene getting direct snaps

We can't even keep a defense honest like we could with smith

Do you have any reason at all to believe this aside from the fact that you like Ryan and you don't like Schottenheimer?

For what it's worth, I didn't have a huge problem with all the direct snaps. We didn't get any big gains from the wildcat (aside from the Greene touchdown,) but it was generally good for a few yards and it gives the defense something to think about.

As long as they don't try to get too cute (read: anything involving Sanchez getting the ball on the outside) I'm happy.

I think we are missing what Brad Smith did with the wildcat for us last year so I am glad to see more of it.

It's probably due to the fact that the rookie is doing well enough on offense to warrant those kinds of plays.

+1. In my opinion we ran so many option plays for two reasons.

    1. Kerley and McKnight have shown flashes all season, and this is a good way to get both of them on the field at the same time.
    2. Schotty (rightfully so) doesn't trust Sanchez and wants to try something different to inject some big plays into this offense.

Granted we were pretty unsuccesful running the option today, but I would be ok with seeing this called a few time a game the next couple weeks.

The wild cat is shit without Brad Smith. Shotty is literally fucking brain dead.

I think people are just asking why the Jets ran so many plays without Sanchez under center.
