Heres how you stop it ... To me all the wild cat offense is plain and simple is a Wing T offense.. All they do is use deception and trickery with men motioning and guards and tackles or wing backs trapping or down blocking.. The simplest thing to take it apart is every man has a man to tackle on one one the whole game when then offense is in play. If you assign a man to tackle to every running back and no matter where they go you go you could deactivate it.. I think Rex over thought Defense and you really can't blitz a Wild Cat you just have to be there when your man is there wether he has the ball or not if he runs threw the hole or goes for a fake sweep tackle his ass..
But that's just it, we didn't blitz the wildcat. They just pushed our guys around upfront and their blockers were 1 step ahead and the LB'ers were one step behind I don't know about you guys but our D looked sluggish from the get. No Life. Like if they were out partying all night and said fukit. It's a night game... But seriously. There was no blitz on the WC.....it was man on man and they beat us.
Looked to me like the Jet d was in "read and react" mode when it came to the WC. That style looked so much like Sutton that I was beginning to wonder if Pettine had missed the plane..
If you over commit to the blitz you get fucked with Ricky Williams on the Jet Sweep(Well, MORE fucked in this case). Rex Ryan did exactly what he did with the Ravens to "solve" the Wildcat, it's just his defense is nowhere near as good here as it was there.
I did not watched any other 'fins game this season..does anyone know if they executed the wildcat as much as they did last night?
I hate watching that wild cat. It is high schoolish to me. Reguardless, we have to stop it obviously and staying in your lanes with a Zone D should stop it. Man to Man might be tough, I think Zone D, with the harris and scott keying in on Ronnie and Ricky.
Agreed. It really looked like our D went out partying in Miami and had no fuel in the tank. They were missing tackle after tackle last night. Jenkins may have been the only one worth a dime.
