i can't really seem to find one jets fan that is happy so far with the draft, but i'm happy. its shown the philosophy that he goes by, draft the BPA. if dee milliner was the BPA, you take him. if sheldon richardson was the BPA, you take him. what offensive players would you have taken there? seriously. john idzik is willing to take the picks that the fans hate, but could seriously help the franchise.

    im excited.

also lets not judge yet, these boys havent played yet

I understand that they went BPA... But they managed to draft the ONLY 2 positions that we really dont need besides LT and C. Thats what pisses me off. We have not filled one single need, especially on offense.

Offense will be addressed in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Pretty positive of that, then safety or OLB in the 4th round.

getting depth on the defensive line is extremely important. if we can have fresh legs half way through the game, thats critical. also dee milliner might never be revis, but he can still be awesome. i'd rather take these guys than a chance warmack.

also lets not forget that this is only round 1. i assume we just have to go offense in the later rounds where i personally believe all the offensive talent is

I was a little angry.. Not because I don't think that their good players, but we didn't address OLB. I guess that they didn't like Jarvis too much and Mingo was picked before their pick.

I agree with the offense though. There weren't any players that I would have taken at 9 or 13. That's why I was hoping to trade back.

great thread. i was disappointed with both pick at first. but afer some thought it appears as though idz stayed true to the board and also that he worked for the trade with both picks.
being deep on the d line isn't a bad problem.

still think k.wilson could be headed to safety

Im really happy when I actually think about it. Even tho I would have loved having other players like jones, star, etc. it is what it is and both players will be a great asset to our defense

I think they liked Jarvis Jones, but as Idzik stated in his post draft interview, they took two of their top four players on their board. He also emphatically stated it was even close.

I was stupefied by this draft, but come to think of it, it might not be that bad. With Cro and Milliner, it will be lockdown. Wilson got picked on pretty badly last year. What they do with Richardson, have him gain weight, or move to a 4-3, I don't know. But, boy, Richardson could really move. Both Milliner and Richardson are really athletic, at least.

Thank God they didn't take a QB. Manuel was a major reach, you can always count on the Bills to screw up. I didn't like Miami's move to grab Jordan, either. But the Patriots did well to trade down. Glad we didn't draft offense - no one good was there. Don't reach for a player.

Offensive line help tomorrow, I hope.

Right on, fuck the sexy picks of the past that lack value. Imagine if we draft a stud TE or even Geno Smith on the second round.

I was very happy with our picks. Milliner was one of the guys I wanted and Richardson was a surprise, didn't even know he was on our radar. he's a beast.
