    Guys,

Aren't we all missing the true value here in the draft? We need a qb desperately, but have other needs (RB, OL) as well. The clear value here is Marcus Vick in round 2, which will allow us the ability to address other needs with the 4th pick overall. Vick is flying under the radar - he's probably the 3rd or 4th best QB in the draft, and he has the athletic ability the help minimize our OL weaknesses. It's like the second coming of Peyton Manning only this time it's the 2nd coming of Mike Vick. Can you imagine the excitement he would bring to the Meadowlands? Wouldn't you love seeing the Pats chasing Marcus around the field?

Vick has a lot of explaining to do. All the legal issues that he is having now, legal issues in the past. The kid needs to mature, that simple.

I'll pass- Let someone else take the problem child..Plus, I feel as if he's really riding on the family name, and wonder if his name wasn't Vick, whether everyone would still be so high on him.

It would take a gaint set of balls for a rookie fo and coach to draft this guy. I doubt highly they make a move that could turn so bad so quickly

Interesting your first post is about you wanting the Jets to draft a thug.

No way to Marcus Vick.... hes not even that good and he would most probably be a locker room cancer.

i used to endorse him as a player because making plays is all that matters. but he's 6 ft 209lbs , will not be playing QB in the NFL. and with all the press he's brought himself off the field he might not even be playing that long in the league.

That sums it up pretty well. His maturity and being able to handle responsibility is a real issue.

Ok - here is my response

I can't defend his character and that is something any coach/organization will have to take a long, hard, close look. However, talent wise, he brings a lot to the table. He's unproven, having played really only one season at Va Tech, but when you look at it, Michael, he only had a small number (seventeen or so) games under his belt and look what he's done in Atlanta. Almost every analyst agrees the Marcus is the more polished passer, and he brings speed and athleticism to the position. And even if he were to be a bust at QB, he could be transitioned into a Randle-El type player (Vick actually played some WR his redshirt fr year). I realize it's a risky pick, but sometimes you risk big to win...

only way id chance anything with him then is if the previous 4 rds of the draft had everyone believing we'll be in good shape.

Well besides the fact that he has a better chance to be in a prison cell come July than a college dorm I can't see any reason not to draft him..
