If I'm not mistaken isn't Sims Walker out there still on top of Plax, and Johnson? He seems like the worst of the three options. I just don't get it and have been questioning it since news surfaced about the acquisition
Obviously the guys in charge of personnel saw some stuff they liked with him, so they brought him in. He is still young and has some room for growth. No more old ass one year fillers.
The guys a scrub who got cut by The Jaguars and was still a free agent by week 5. If 31 other teams didn't have intrest in him it's because they know what his ceiling is and what he can do and he can't do much, this team is screwed, You don't just become great at age 27, at that age you are what you are theres no growth left to be had the guy just doesn't have much talent
Because the Jets are trying to shrink from the spotlight now that they're exposed and also trying to save money so that they can have somewhat of an offseason. It's only fun to be the talk of the town when you are good or for some reason projected to be good.
31 teams didn't want Woodhead. 31 teams 5 times over didn't want Brady. Nobody wanted Arian Foster. Just because nobody else saw something in him doesn't mean he isn't good. Other teams aren't as thin at WR and probably would rather keep their drafted WR over signing up a guy who might have the same ceiling. Us on the other hand are very thin at WR and our picks at WR are definitely starting, Kerley and Hill. We don't have any lower round picks we want to use
Why not? What do we have to lose? Johnson and T.O are both head cases and Palx was a cancer in OUR locker room. I dont blame them for not signing those other guys. I DO blame them for not getting us any depth at the position in the off season, but thats a whole nother story lol
No shit, the same can be said of any player available in week 5 of the regular season. What are the alternatives? Fact is when you go into the year with a weak WR group and then 2 of them get injured you're pretty much screwed. Hill is about as good as it gets in this spot.
does it really matter??? would have rather seen sims-walker....but like i said, does it really matter?
WTF? Between Plax, Johnson, and Braylon, some of you cats need to stop trying to polish washed-up WR knobs.
Plax must've left on bad terms. Something we don't know. He played well, and he'd sign a vet minimum. I'd go after Chad. Rumor has it he was a beast in Dolphins camp, before he head-butted that jump-off. I also LIKE that he was cut by the pats and phins. I know a kid from my macroeconomics class that slept with the TAs GIGANTIC sister just because the dude wouldn't give him credit for a make-up exam he took an hour after the time limit. That's a 100% true story, and the moral is: do not underestimate the man with a chip on his shoulder.
but its ok to beg for the team to sign a washed up 30+ wr with baggage that 31 other teams don't want? not saying you specifically, just sying these are the choices.
Our WR problems can't be fixed this season no matter what old or young guy we bring in, someone needs to fix this problem next off season,We need to sign atleast 5 WR next season
Why no Plax? How about because he is slow as shit, could not get open at all last year , and because he was a locker room cancer and most likely one of Mehta 's anonymous sources at the end of last season. Let him rot on his couch. As for why Hill, the Star Ledger had an article today that said the Jets were not considering anyone older than 30 and wanted receivers with speed. While the personnel decisions have been awful the past few years, I want nothing to do with old players anymore and the last thing this team needs is additions to the circus and that is what you get with TO, Johnson, and Plax
