Why haven't Jets' resigned Hobson & play him at ILB...which is his best position. With Hobson & David Harris as ILB's.....Jets defense would be stronger against the run ....especially behind a new NT. He looks like best available F.A. at ILB position. He is stronger at point of attack than Barton & provides better depth than either Kassel or Chatham. Jets' have to get wiser & stronger as a team.

Precisely....Hobson is a very good hard-hitting LB, that is playing out of position as the OLB.

How do you know he's out of position at OLB? If he were capable of playing ILB do you not think Mangini/Sutton would have tried him there?

It's not like we're cutting him...he's a UFA. We have Thomas and Bowens...and you know we'll be picking up another rush OLB in draft or FA. I don't know who the new guy's name is yet (Gholston, Pace), but we better get one and not settle for resigning another OPLB (out-of-place linebacker).

We are going to do a lend lease with NE to see if he is any good in the 3/4 before bringing him back at big bucks.

No, not a dim-wit. No don't get to see much beyond a tiny streamed image of most games. What's your point?

    Victor Hobson is garbage!

Hobson is no more then a backup LB in the NFL, if we did resign him I would be asking for Mangini's head. This thread has to be a joke.

Dude, just stop now please. Victor Hobson was the biggest POS on our defense last season. If you are asking for the Jets to resign him then you clearly have not watched him play, or you are playing a cruel joke.

Victor Hobson = a backup LB in a 4-3 system. Nothing more.

Noone's saying they are letting him go jsut yet. There will be replacements in FA.....and they can still bid for him if anyone else wants him.....he isn;t a prized player goign into FA so the Jets are pretty safe

Hobson has never established himself as a line backer thats worth keeping . He was close to it under herm but that was a different defensive scheam all together (See Vilma). He doesnt have a big contract and doesnt fit what they are trying to do in these coming seasons . He is very expendable!

I wouldn't mind signing Hobson as a backup, but the guy didn't blow anyone away with his play.

This thread can be best used as a thread on why we need T.O.
