Seems like a cool guy and maybe a good dude to work as a QB coach to start. I wouldn't call potentially hiring him to run an organization (ours) that's been a sinking ship for a decade a brilliant move considering he's never been a coach. Could've tossed him an interview though I guess.
Coaching is different than playing. Experience in the business is important. That’s why he wasn’t interviewed.
The guy would have been the perfect head coach. He’s been on more teams than any player I can remember and knows practically every system.
Too green. We needed somebody with some coaching experience. Even Saleh is causing some question marks for fans like me who wanted an experienced HC. McCown would throw me off the ledge to be honest.
Saleh has been coaching for 20 years. I know he hasn’t been head coach but that’s real experience and I don’t really want a retread.
He needs to start a bit lower and work up the ranks. Even McVay had OC experience before becoming the Rams HC.
Josh has plenty of experience. The only argument against him would be staff considerations. Saleh has been putting plans in place for a few years. Can’t imagine Josh has given it much better thought.
Jack Easterby is clearly a genius. The real question is: why didn't the Jets interview Phillip Rivers?! /s This has the potential to be terrible news. Watson gets pissed, gets traded to the Fish. Or not. Gotta stay positive. All gas no brake. All gas no brake. All gas...
Wouldn't it be something if ol' Joshycopter went straight from backup QB to CEO-style head coach? Who needs to waste their time earning their reps and putting special teamers through gauntlets? You don't need to do that crap when you're the boss! Calling plays is for suckers!
Is this thread a joke? He is the back-up QB for the Texans with 0 coaching experience, except for helping Sam and that has not worked out. I get Joe Douglas said he would do a thorough search, but that would have been ridiculous. Cool the Texans interviewed him, but I doubt they are seriously considering him either. Although, who knows with them lately?!?!
Josh McCown is more religious than Eric Bieniemy. Therefore, he has a better shot to win the HC job on Easterby's Texans. (Actually, I don't know if he is more religious but I know McCown is very religious...)
What Is this thread...? He's not wrong about being in front of my computer, asking myself, where am I? I'm currently somewhere I don't want to be. wtf? Lol
