This is one trade I truly don't understand. We needed starting pitching and until the time Bannister got hurt last year he was pitching well. He pitched well in Binghamton and Norfolk and he's only 26. Did we really need Ambiorox 5.63 ERA injured can't even make it out of New Orleans Burgos that bad?

In case your wondering Bannister has 4 wins and has an ERA under 2 the last month all while pitching for the Farm club that is known as the Royals. I was pissed when we made the trade and I'm even more pissed now that Bannister is the pitcher I thought he was and Burgos has proved that he sucked in KC for a reason.

Resigning Tom Glavine had something to do with the Mets trading Bannister.

Of course, Glavine hasn't been horrid this year. He's sucked at times, but I thought he'd suck more.

I don't get it.... what does resigning Glavine have to do with trading Bannister?

Because if the Mets didn't resign Glavine they would have needed another starting pitcher.

Of course, I'm not exactly sure what date Glavine was resigned and what date Bannister was traded.

Mets traded him for Ambiorix Burgos... he wasn't going to get any time here so the thinking was trade him for a guy that's a beast out of the pen and let our staff mold him into a great relief pitcher. Hasn't happened yet with Ambiorix Burgos, but the kid has the raw skills if we can ever harness him.
