At 1:43 is looks like Drew gives up on stopping Gore from making into the end zone. I think Gore would have scored anyway, but its a tie game at this point, it would be nice to see Coleman try to tackle him. But the real issue is why can't Carroll beat out Coleman? I know all Carroll has going for him is athleticism, but all Coleman has going for him is a lesser quantity of athleticism. And please, no packer/favre fans lecturing about how bad Carroll was in GB, obviously he sucked cuz he was in Arena football before he came here. The real question is does he suck more than Coleman, who seems to be playing for the other team.

Would you rather have the penalty making idiot, or the idiot? I'll choose the Idiot.

because Carroll averages like 13 penalty flags a game....keep him on Special Teams.

I think he leads the ST crew in penalties as well. He had one on sunday that was beyond unneeded.

we all know Mangini "loathes" players that take dumb penalties....there's no way Carroll would play in the secondary....this thread fails big time.

thats why I'm shocked he's here. He makes the dumbest penalties that i've ever seen.

A guy ran by LW once on a punt return, and Carroll pursued the defender and pushed him in the back, 10 yards away from LW as if he wanted to commit that penalty. Its beyond dumb.

yeah...i was a tad surprised when he made the roster....i guess he showed some speed on kickoff returns during TC, and Mangini figured all Carroll would be is a Special Teams player.

From what I've seen of Carroll, he's a lot worse than Coleman as a DB. That's saying a lot. He is a pretty good special teams player and that's probably the only reason he made the team.

agreed...he's one of those classic cases of somebody who doesn't think before they act.

I don't know why either would have to see the field.

    Revis, Law, Lowery, Poteat, Barrett

No. It's like getting in the backseat with the fat chick in spandex with the cute face, or the ugly chick with the smokin hot body.

They both Suck equally. There's just no living with either.

You can get the fat one to lose weight if you're willing to put in time.

Coleman has been inactive the last few weeks, not exactly sure why he got activated for the game this past weekend. Hopefully he goes back to the inactive list until he is cut in the offseason.

Why is everyone so sure that Coleman is better when Carroll doesn't get on the field? Carroll has a rep for drawing penalties, Coleman has a rep for giving up TDs.

Hey, I know you didn't want a GB fans perspective, but hear me out.

Carroll started for us for a full season, and went into season two as a starter. He is very fast, and actually wasn't even that bad at playing corner. He never got burned (due to his speed, mostly) and always had really good coverage. The penalty that always got him was hands to the face: After the first two games in his rookie season, they started to not even be his fault.

Yeah, he had like, 2 of them that were legit in hsi first game, one in his second. After that, when Carrol wen to jam them at the line by pushing the chest and shoulder area, wr's would drop there head right into his arms, and he would get called for hands to the face every time, even though his hands are on the body, and the defender put his helmet near his hands, he didn't put his hands near the helmet.

It really got rediculous. It gave him this PI plague,a nd I was pretty sad when we cut him. The guy had lots of talent, and covered well, even making a few very nice plays for us - but the refs just had it out against him on the hands to the face, even though it was just the WR's dropping the head. If you notice, that season, they started doing it to Al Harris too, and he had a handfull of hands to the face calls that season as well. It's just stupid.

He'll forever hold the penalty plague though. He was never a good special teamer in GB, but a good cover corner that refs wouldn't let play.

True in theory, but in practice, especially if you are talking about a younger woman, rather than an older one who had once been thin, rarely do they lose weight.

Of course some women lose the weight. Just don't count on it.

I'm basing my opinion off of what I saw in preseason. That's admittedly not a large sample, but it was an awful sample.

He did get in at CB for at least one play this season and got completely smoked by Randy Moss but Cassell overthrew him.

The real question about the OP is why either Caroll or Coleman are on the roster. The answer is that the Jets are very thin in the secondary.
