Why is that we are so bad in the 2nd halves of football games? I'm not saying we always play great in the 1st half, but I can't remember the last game we came out and just played a great 2nd half. You don't win in this league by being a 1st half team.
Because the coaches cannot adjust. Has nothing to do with the players. I have not seen one good halftime adjustment in 3 years.
Coaches cant adjust if we are behind at the half and they go into turtle mode when we have the lead. "We are up by 3 lets run right up the gut 3 times and punt the ball, no need to take any risks"
I have noticed that the Jets come out with a precise game plan. They truly are trying to Get Jones the Runs to set up the pass and finally the Jets showed some creativity with some play action. They finally went to the tight ends and gave Farve more options then just Coles and Crotch in short patterns. Then the Jets come out in the third quarter and continued the march , but by this time they are battling an opposing team that has our defenses number. We get spread out and someone somewhere on the field is lost in space, unable to figure out where they belong or who they are to cover, thus leading to one or two guys all by themselves. Ultimately in the last three games we have been in a position to loose and this week we were bailed out by a freak event. You get that ? We lost yesterday! I know what the final score was , but we lost in all aspects of that game. Happy yes! Of the opinion we are a good team who will shock the world next week ...No!
Ive noticed in the last couple of games that it seems like we gameplan for the first quarter (or maybe even first drive) and thats it. We always come out strong on our opening drive and look impressive, then we fall apart and look dismal. Is this because of bad coaching, no adjustments to counter their adjustments, I think so.
What I don't understand was in their first season, Mangini's strength was his adjustments at the half. Now it's a weakness.
Yeah, he was real exhausted leading the Jets in OT over the Pats. Even tying the Raider game up at the end of regulation. Or beating KC on their last offensive drive.... That ain't it.
That is an absolutely ridiculous answer, get real. It is the coaching. We get out coached in the 2nd half, it is uncanny and unbelievably frustrating.
We jump out to early leads, force teams to adjust to us (like you should), and then readjust. Thats not easy to do with a team that doesn't know the ins and outs of the game and the system. We saw it with the Pats, we saw it with the Cardinals, and we even saw it a little with the Titans but they couldn't score. I'm sorry that sounds too logical...in actuality its because we suck. See we should come up with a gameplan, adjust BEFORE the other teams adjust that way we keep them on their toes, and totally dominate for all 60 minutes. Thats what real teams do. Look at the Colts yesterday...21-21 with the fucking LIONS yesterday...god that team and coaching staff sucks.
Maybe you forgot a certain Titans game from 3 weeks ago. I think they played a hell of a second half after leading 10-3 at halftime. The second half the Jets EXPLODED into HYPERDRIVE.
