Crumpler is not the tight end he once was... And the only reason for us to bring in a tight end this offseason, is if we can get a game breaker, such as Shockey from the Giants...
He may not be in his prime, but when he had a decent QB this season, he was top 5 in the game hands down...and he's way better than Jeremy "overrated" Shockey.
Shockey getting hurt may have helped the Giants win a Super Bowl. That is NOT the kind of player we need.
Then i guess my point is made, unless we are bringing in a game breaker at the TE position, we dont need one. So i would guess this conversation is over.
I agree there is no need to upgrade from Baker to Crumpler. Crumpler is by far the better player but not enough to warrant splashing a contract on him...
I'd be interested in seeing their comparable number of drops, considering Crumpler was getting passes from one of the least accurate passers in the league for a while. I don't see Shockey as a gamebreaker until he can actually keep his concentration for an entire season.
Crumpler has had some nagging knee injuries for the last two seasons and gained some weight. Buyer beware.
 haha nice one. Anyway, i'll pass on Crumpler. If the Jets pick him up though, I won't be upset.
Beat me by about 39 minutes. Also, I know we're looking for a better blocking tight end, but adding a receiving option like Crumpler is enticing if we want to surround Clemens with the proper weapons, or provide Chad with the right people to dump it down to.
