Assuming Cotchery, Stuckey, Clowney, B. Smith and W. Wright make the 53 man roster who would you like to get the #6 WR spot? After all I've heard from TC I'd like Britt Davis... He seems reliable enough, fast enough plus (using the Raiderjoe analysis method) he is 6-3 205 making him the biggest WR on our roster (except M. Henry). I'd like to give him a shot... Allison might make the team if Clowney breaks down but from what I've heard they are similar players...
I'm assuming they carry 10-11 players between RBs, FBs and WRs... that's what most teams do, looking at last year. I know a lot of it depends from the coach, some prefer to carry the most talented players and some need to have a certain amount of players for a given position (like Gruden 500 QB's). Since this is the first time Ryan is the HC we have no clues, especially on offense... from all we know he could carry 7 WR . 6 makes sense, it's enough players to find some hidden gems (or to replace someone who can't play in regular games) but not too many to take away roster spots from other positions... This of course is all IMHO
I've always liked Marcus Henry, but I don't see the practices so I can't really answer. Whoever the coaching staff determines will contribute the most in practice and on special teams should get the gig.
I don't see how we carry a 6th WR, especially when Brad Smith and Wallace Wright already play special teams.
Given that Wright (and to a lesser extent Smith) are only good for their special teams abilities, I think it's more likely that they carry a 6th WR. I imagine it'll be Henry or Davis.
Yeah but Keller is the only "REAL" option at TE, B. Smith is a trick play player more then a real WR and W. Wright is prob the best ST player we have and not only a WR. I say this year we carry 6... my only other idea is that we keep Woodhead and he becomes a RB/WR.
He was resigned when we cut some other guy (in some other position)... I believe he is the longest shot to even make the practice squad. Interesting J. Simmons is now the #2 TE on the depth chart... he looks like an UDFA who'll make the team. Good for him but this means our top two TE are both pass catching TE's... this means our WR will need to rough up the game and do some blocking. I wonder if, as a third TE, we keep Brown or we get someone during the final cuts...
# 88 I have heard nothing from him except he is always open and his unnatural blasing speed. If we sign a FA WR then it becomes a moot point.
