What free agent would you want us to sign within reason?

For me it is easy. Pick up Brad Kassell to play ILB beside Vilma...

I'd like to see Kassel signed. I'm not sure what is going on with him, haven't heard anything in a few weeks.

Kassell wouldn't start IMO. He's not the run stuffer we need next to Vilma. He'd be a good depth signing though. In a perfect world, Kai Parham or Anthony Schlegel would fall to us in the 5th to give us the ideal combo of Hobson and either of those two to stuff next to Vilma.

i would like to see a trade rather than a signing, that being for jeff faine, of course only if the jets would not give up too much. anything except for 1st or 2nd is good imo. 3rd this year and a later pick this year or next year would be fine. OL is the biggest need right now and as much as the jets could easily be picking 2 or 3 guys from the draft for the line you cant have a line dominated by rookies and 2nd year players.

I actually just looked up his size and he is 6 foot three and 242 pounds...That is probably a good size for the OLB position, but either way he would be a good it and I think he would be good enough to start somewhere in the LB corps.

    My ideal LB corps: (possible)

    OLB: Bobby Carpenter
    ILB: Jonathin Vilma
    ILB: AJ Hawk
    OLB: Eric Barton

Yeah it has been awhile. I honestly think he is going to sit it out for awhile and hope a team calls him with a better deal. Maybe I am wrong though.

    Possible? Yes...

    Likely? No...

It would be pretty crazy for the Jets to use our first two picks both on LB's...one of them would be enough for now...

I can't believe that Jets' fans are overlooking Hobson. He is the best inside LB on roster right now.

I think we're stuck with Catham at ILB with Vilma, Hobson will stay OLB

I don't think Chatham really fits the ILB position. I am pretty sure he will be a OLB.

Definitely Kassell. If not to start then for depth. Then I guess Sam Adams? But I dont really care as much for him as I do Kassell. Other than that I cant really think of anyone, for the most part the market is dwindling.

Eh, I think were okay with the vets. We're already set at ILB with Vilma and Hobson. Kassell could provide some competition. Its an OLB that we need.

I agree that OLB is a need...a pass rushing OLB to be exact...but I dont see the harm in getting Derek Smith. He would probably come dirt cheap like Monsanto did. Just an idea. It probably wont happen though...

I still want Kassell over him.

I think well address OLB in the draft. Probably draft a DE early day 2 and move him to OLB. Stanley McGlover or Daryll Tapp sound good. Or Bobby Carpenter in the 2nd round, but I dont see many other OLBs in this years draft that could thrive in a 3-4. I like Kai Parham as an ILB, if we dont get Kassell. And he has experience in a 3-4
