David Harris replaced him last year when Vilma went down.

Sign Bell from KC for depth and play the same way you did last year with Harris and Barton in the middle. If Bell regains his form and beats out Barton, so be it.

"Our D without him is empty" ...that just shows how much you know, man.

The defense improved without him...he was AWESOME in the 4-3, but those days are over in New York. He WAS a stud.

David Harris was arguably the best player on this team in the second half of the season.

I trust our FO to find a viable 3-4 ILB in free agency, or through the draft.

This trade will open up a spot for a talented rookie and/or a former 3-4 great Kendrell Bell.

Honestly I agree that I would rather have Vilma, but since a trade is apparently coming anyways, I think the guy who played the other ILB spot opposite Harris was Barton. I do not feel comfortable with Barton as the other ILB, so since most of our FA money will be going towards the OL and the DL and the WR spot, I think our new ILB will be a rookie.

whoa whoa easy people...first off...this isnt a save Vilma thread...I was just voicing my opinion that I would rather have him stay...second...we havnt seen Vilma AND Harris together on the inside, so you don't know how that would be, I bet you it would be alot better than Hobson and Harris...also, my thoughts with the D is empty comment is that Vilma was a leader of the D and now he has to be replaced, I think it is garbage how we spend and waste all these picks on guys that we are trading away for what seems to be garbage value...either way, he is gone...I would like to draft an ILB maybe in the second round, depends on what we fill in FA...Hobson is slow and Barton is getting older...

hellllllllll no. I heard it from a giant fan myself. He said mitchell is completely overrated. He has a great D-line to take up blockers and put pressure so he runs free rushing the passer, and he had one play that made him a hot commodity and that was an interception thrown right at him returned for a touchdown where there was absolutely nobody stopping him.

Dan Connor is the best LB in the draft and maybe our choice with our first pick. He may be the right choice.Check out the Huddle report on his profile.

I bet Kendrell Bell could resurrect his career in a 3-4 role and he'd come cheap. He could fight Barton for the spot atleast.
