We always debate about who reaches the SB... let's talk about who will finish dead last. Imo at the moment the most inept team in the NFL is the Bills... they would really need a LT but if they select n°1 they'll probabyl go after Locker... he'd be a good fit in what Gailey likes to do with his O. However I could see them go after Vick (if they're smart) so the selection could turn out to be the best available LT (someone will shine by the time college season is over) or just the BPA since they have so many holes (Dareus?). What do you guys think? Is someone worse than the Bills?
Bills, Browns & Carolina would be my top 3 at this point in the season. Bills are in a tough division and their QB situation is a complete mess. Bills would and should go QB.....Andrew Luck would be my choice. Locker's stock is falling like a rock. Mallet will continue to rise with another few excellent games like last week. Browns lost 2 close games to fairly weak teams, it isn't getting easier, tough opponents are coming up on their schedule. Browns could go in a number of directions....Defense, WR, or RB. Carolina has no passing game, hopefully Jimmy C can help but I doubt it, at this year. Watch for Bill Cowher to be the HC of Carolina next year...mark it down. AJ Green would be a huge addition, they need receivers.
Bills will finish with the 1st pick of the 2011 NFL Draft. Not sure who they will take. I only certain that somehow, someway they will f--k it up. They really should have taken Jimmy Clausen in the 2nd round when he was available in 2010.
Cleveland, Kansas City, Carolina, Buffalo, and St. Louis are my bottom five. I could care less if the Chiefs won their first two games - they have one of the shittiest offenses I've ever seen. Cleveland needs to go after a quarterback. Kansas City will probably give up on Matt Cassel if they finish in the bottom five, so they'll need a quarterback. Carolina needs more fire power, so I agree with WW on this - they need a wideout. ...maybe someone Jimmy Clausen's familiar with: Mike Floyd St. Louis also needs to surround their young quarterback with weapons - they need a wideout. Buffalo is so bad that they could really go in any direction - quarterback, offensive tackle, or receiver.
1) BUF- QB Jake Locker Washington 2) CLE- DE Robert Quinn UNC 3) STL- WR AJ Green Georgia(Could put J. Jones here also but I think Greene may light up the combine a bit better) 4) DET- CB Patrick Peterson LSU 5) ARI- QB Ryan Mallett Arkansas Some could argue of ARI taking a QB considering how much they adore Max Hall but Hall isn't a talent to bank a franchise on by any stretch of the imagination. Hall or whoever can start next year as Mallett is a project but I think QB would be a decent move considering Derek Anderson is the 1st string QB. That is just how I see it though.
Oh you haven't seen the daunted Cardinals offense go to work led by the almighty Derek Anderson. I think even Larry Fitzgerald tries to keep himself from laughing at that.
I am in agreement with you that Locker may fight with Pryor to be that 3rd top QB in the NFL Draft based upon their college seasons but I think Locker is going to light it up in the combine. What works against the "Luck to BUF" pick is sadly a past Stanford QB stinking it up in BUF....Trent Edwards. Ralph Wilson will be very hesitant to go after a Stanford QB with the 1st pick, much like how Holmgren and Browns FO weren't biting on Clausen after they had Brady Quinn.
I don't think they're bad enough, especially on defense, to end up in the top five. We're probably going to see former BYU quarterback Max Hall start a lot of games for them this year. Have you seen Jake Locker play this season? He'll be lucky to go in the second round if he keeps playing the same way. I don't care how fast he runs the 40, he's looked horrible in a pro-style offense. Andrew Luck and Ryan Mallett should be fighting for the top spot in April. Never, ever compare Andrew Luck to Trent Edwards. I understand the Stanford QB thing, but the two are on completely different talent levels. Luck is a ridiculous quarterback prospect, while Edwards always underachieved in college. I don't think we'll be comparing Terrelle Pryor to Troy Smith any time soon. If I had to rank quarterbacks right now, it'd look like this: 1. Andrew Luck - Stanford 2. Ryan Mallett - Arkansas 3. Nick Foles - Arizona 4. Nathan Enderle - Idaho 5. Jerrod Johnson - Texas A&M I like Terrelle Pryor as a college quarterback, but I want to see him be a consistent passer all season long. Watch out for these WAC quarterbacks - Idaho's Nate Enderle and Fresno's Ryan Colburn should move up boards with strong seasons. Nevada's Colin Kaepernick is a hell of an athlete, but he's doing all of his damage out of a gimmick system. I don't think his game will translate over to the NFL.
Alot of losses on defense like Dansby, Rolle. Wilson and Dockery are great talent but I don't know if that will be enough to get Arizona out of the 4-5 win column. Yes I have, especially vs NEB and I told one of my dudes "Wow he really looks like a 2nd round QB out there" the way he was overwhelmed and inefficient. However, it makes me wonder if its on Locker or more so Sark/the supporting cast. Locker really does work with nothing around him and is facing talent like Nebraska that is superior in most positions. I am thinking maybe this was just a 1 game fluke and that Locker will do everything under his power to give UW wins(Which wont be alot) Oh I am not comparing them talent wise but just bringing up the fact that they were playing under the same school and that it does matter to owners who've seen a player at the same position stink it up who went to the same school not too long ago. As an ND fan, I've seen both QBs and I can even tell you in the 1 rivalry game per year the difference of the two. Granted Harbaugh's recruited much better talent that Luck gets but Luck schools Checkdown in every quality. I don't see a whole lot of WAC games but I did see Kaepernick vs the Dame to open the season up last year and he had a few flashes but nothing really stood out for me regarding him. Heard about the dual threat all around but I would say Navy's Patrick Cobbs does it better than him(I saw Cobbs vs Maryland this year and was left dissapointed because he always destroys ND in his gimmick system)
Beanie Wells needs to get healthy. Having two quality backs in Hightower and Wells should help them beat get wins against St. Louis and Seattle. That division is terrible. Locker has plenty to work with finally and that's what bothers me about him as a prospect. He's got an above average offensive line, a very good running back behind him (Chris Polk), and a potentially elite receiver in Jermaine Kearse to throw to. This guy can't be this inconsistent. I don't understand why he's rated so incredibly high on almost everyone's boards right now. I just have a good feeling things will change. *Ricky Dobbs Along with Denard Robinson and Taylor Martinez, Colin Kaepernick is one of the best dual-threat quarterback in college football right now. Navy's triple option is much more different than the pistol offense that Nevada runs. Kaepernick is also a very good passer - Dobbs hasn't done much as a passer, but he's not expected to. Through three games this season, Kaepernick has 728 yards passing with 5 TDs and no INTS plus 369 yards rushing with 7 TDs. If you can find highlights of the Cal/Nevada game this year, you should watch them. Kaepernick and the Nevada offense absolutely destroyed the Cal Bears.
Yeah whoops see I am getting ready for Miami with the Patrick Cobbs LOL Ricky Dobbs is killer in the triple option system though.
If that system is run the right way, it's almost unstoppable. Josh Nesbitt at Georgia Tech does a hell of a job commanding that offense too, but he has absolutely no future as a passer in the NFL.
Oh I can't stand the damn offense, its destroyed the Irish's slow D the past two years. It doesn't work so much on teams like Miami, some SEC teams because its an offense that picks apart the slower and physical defenses while alot of the Southern teams have agile and freakish athletes on D. The Big Ten schools and ND get left vulnerable by an offense like that. Navy gave OSU a run for its money 2 years back if I remember correctly week 1 or week 2. Its why Denard Robinson, while running a very slight diff. variation of the offense, could really dent the Big Ten this year barring injury.
You need a QB to win, I see the Bills taking Locker, the first year under Chan Gailey was a BPA choice, and I think Locker is the BPA at a position of need
Locker has played like crap so far this season, he's pitful. Locker won't sniff Round 1 if he continues to tank. It was a HUGE mistake to come back another year.
Yes, agreed. That would be awesome if Buffalo wasted their #1 overall on Locker. If I was Andrew Luck fuck money, if Buffalo gets the first pick I'm not declaring.
