Going back to what the old great baseball trader Branch Rickey had to say. Whenever you do a multi-player trade, the team that gets the best overall player USUALLY wins. So B wins with Crawford. Thats why with Seaver going to Cincinnati, the Mets got four guys with "potential" that gave them nothing. The Mets lost that trade big time.

    Ha!
    Are you guys serious?

Jorgie is on fire this year,
Rowand and Crawfords numbers are a wash....
and Pitching is everything so Bonderman gets that....
Although Maine is having a Solid year
    (Which I called )
Figgins is just a throw in.

    Sorry but Quality > Quantity.
B May squeak it out, or
A might squeak it out but this is NOT cut and dry.

I don't buy into that 1 best guy makes it the best deal.
These are 3 Proven players NOT 3 Prospects.

    Ask yourself this,
Which 3 show the most Promise of Continuing their seasons like this?

It's definitely B, unless team A needs to upgrade from Maine to Bonderman really, really badly.

I'd say they're going serious now. I mean, they're making out already.

Yeah Rowand Crawford are equal now but you dont trade for performance so far in the season you trade for future performance on the year. Crawford is a top 20 player and Rowand will not come close to him by season's end stats wise. Crawford still has the edge b/c of the 14 more SB and 8 more RBI.

    Rowand

    .325 avg 8 HR 30 RBI 41 Runs RBI 3 SB

    Crawford

    .304 avg 6 HR 38 RBI 34 Runs 17 SB

Posada has been awesome but he is a catcher and he could wear down at his age. To me Maine is almost a wash with Bonderman and Figgns has raised his average and is coming on hot of late.

    Rowand

    .325 avg 8 HR 30 RBI 41 Runs RBI 3 SB

    Crawford

    .304 avg 6 HR 38 RBI 34 Runs 17 SB

Which is exactly what I said towards the end of my post.

What I was trying to convey is that this trade isn't as "Clear Cut" as some say it is.

IMO It could go either way and AORN, I go with A.

Fair enough, I just see Posada cooling off a bit and Rowand not staying on his pace. Figgins is heating up and Crawford is Crawford. Not one sided but an edge to B IMO

    I can see that happening.

Posada has a few months a year where he is on fire then drops off like Ice Cream in the Heat.

Don't sleep on Rowand though. Remember, He's hitting behind howard so He'll get plenty of scraps.

    B. For fantasy purposes, Crawford is one of the best players in the game.

Bonderman should do considerably better than Maine, so if that guy needs pitching it isn't a complete landslide. Now that he's fully back from the injury, Figgins should do great and mitigate the loss of Rowand.
