I've been watching it on twitch all weekend and on next gen consoles this is truly looking like the best Madden ever and I'm a Madden "hater". The only bad thing is Jim Nantz, commercials and commercial breaks.
Played a bit this morning on xbox1, the graphics are great but the defensive perspective will take some getting used to.
It has a different feel to it, I cant really pinpoint what it is but I definitely feel more limited offensively (which is a good thing because that means more defense)
Yes. I turned the cameras to wide thanks to an earlier comment and it made the game much more playable.
It's much more difficult to complete passes 10 yards and farther. It's very easy to pick defenses apart underneath though with backs and tight ends and shallow crossers. They've also emphasized stopping the run a bit better, although it's still very easy to gash the poor run defenses in the game. The defensive backs are just a lot more intelligent and granted they still drop sure handed picks, they react a lot better in zone coverage than they did in other games. Deep field goals are also much harder.
Vick has cost me 2 online games already. First game he fumbles on the first snap in OT and the Dline scored a TD. Then just before I am down 7, I hike the ball as time expires, I have an open reciever in the right side of the endzone and vick completely misses him. Fuck me.
Yeah the Jets are much tougher to play with this year. The secondary gets picked apart and I play with Geno, but you seem to be having the same problem with Vick. They both airmail a lot of balls and I think it has to do with actually having your feet set. I like to step up as I throw to kinda drive into the receiver like in real life. This works with good quarterbacks, with the Jets quarterbacks it's always overthrows.
Computer defense intercepts more passes too, Geno throws some fugly passes into the ground and wide right, running the ball is harder, but it makes it more fun being harder to move the ball and the Jets defnesive secondary is horrible, if you don't get a pass rush forget it, Alex Smith finished the game 18-20 for 346 yards and 4 TDS...
It's not only Alex Smith it's every single quarterback in the game at least when I play the computer. I'm starting to think it's not so much a Jets thing as it is just how the game is. Because the computer checks down all day long.
