Who is better Dez Bryant or Golden Tate? From what I have seen from highlights is that Dez has alot of upside and raw talent but Tate looks like he could be an immediate impact on the team. If say we filled all our major needs on the defense and got a RB before the draft who would you pick if up if both was available at 29? Or do you have another WR in mind that has about the same or equal talent and upside in the later rounds?
Dez Bryant's the better pro prospect because he's got incredibly leaping ability and better size. I don't buy the Andre Johnson comparisons, but I still think he can be a good wideout in the NFL.
I think Dez is the better prototypical #1 receiver, but I do think Golden Tate will be a good one. I would not mind Golden Tate picked one bit. He would add a great element to our offense a la poor man's percy harvin (I've heard some comparisons)
Bryant is the #1 receiver in the draft by A LOT. I think he's as good a prospect as Michael Crabtree was last year.
What makes Bryant the better receiver is his upside/potential in the NFL. Golden Tate is going to be a good pro, the ceiling is higher for Dez.
Dez is an all around more talented guy. Only maturity issues are keeping him out of the top 10. Tate is going to be a damn good pro though.
Dez has TO potential to me. He's got the size, can go get balls with little problem, and has that knack for the big play without having blazing speed. They know how to create separation with their bodies, which is a skill that translates to the next level because not many college wideouts have it. He's a #1, franchise type receiver, if he puts the work into it. Golden Tate has speed and is great hands, but a part of me has trouble seeing him as a guy who will be a #1 receiver. A guy like Dez could work in any system, but for Tate if the QB doesn't have a big arm, or isn't skilled enough to get Tate the ball in space then he won't reach his potential. To me he's a potentially great #2 option, but shaky as a 1. Like a more talented Devery Henderson.
TO does not high point the ball the way Bryant does. I have a hard time finding a current NFL player to compare him to. But if had to pick one I would say a smaller Brandon Marshall with a little bit more hops and elusiveness.
Pesonally I think Golden Tate is better and will have the better career. However I am 99.999999% sure that Dez gets drafted at least 5 spots in front of Tate.
I'm as sure that Bryant will be drafted before Tate as I was that Crabtree would be drafted before Heyward-Bey. Ha, we've seen odd things happen before at the draft.
Bryant is a wideout while Tate is a slot guy. I have a hard time believing Bryant will be on the board at 29 and it's very doubtful that we would trade up for him when we have Edwards and Cotchery already. Tate and a bunch of other receivers have a very good shot at being there at 29.
That involved the Raiders. So don't take that too seriously. Tate could be drafted by a team that doesn't like Bryant's personality or by a team that would prefer a slot receiver, however.
Demaryius Thomas is more of a Brandon Marshall to me. I think that TO and Dez have the same ability to catch and go and use their bodies to make plays, while with Marshall and Thomas they have a certain freakish ability after they get the ball in their hands. The latter two are YAC receivers in two ways, they have speed to run in the open field but also have running back-like ability to make cuts, take on contact and break tackles in the open field. For his size, I don't think there's a more elusive player in the league than BM, he's a sick athlete.
Why isn't it? We've already established the fact that one is a slot guy and the other in a wide-out that goes up and gets the ball. That's exactly Moss/Welker.
I like Tate for what he can open up for us on the offense. Looks very versatile and looks alot bigger and stronger then Dez and Percy. Also I was thinking that if our RB situation God forbid went south cause of injuries we could use him at RB. Right?
