Ok sorry this is another thread, but I need advice quickly since my trade deadline ends saturday night....what do you think of this trade.... Team B has a surplus of RBs and needs a WR or 2, Team A has a surplus of WRs and needs a RB or 2 Team A gets: Travis Henry Adrian Peterson Hines Ward Team B gets: Steve Smith Anquan Boldin Larry Johnson who gets the better deal?
I think you mixed up the description. If you both have surpluses at the different positions, it's a good trade for all. I'd just say team B. Larry Johnson < Adrian Peterson though.
Henry is the wild card there. He could be out of football within a week for the next year. Don't see how anybody could make any trade including him until that is decided. Not to mention that Ward has been invisable all year. That trade is hugely lopsided even with Boldin still hurt.
Larry Johnson > Travis Henry Steve Smith > Adrian Peterson Anquan Boldin > Hines Ward This trade would be almost vetoable.
the trade got tweaked a bit, here is what it looks like now Team A gets: Travis Henry Adrian Peterson Team B gets: Steve Smith Dwayne Bowe
That's a lot more reasonable. If Team A really needs RBs and Team B really needs WRs, that trade makes sense. But you don't want a team that's super-heavy on RBs and then have no WRs. So it's a judgment call.
Team B is getting jacked in the second scenario. Peterson is by far the best of the bunch, especially if you have Taylor as a handcuff. In the short term Henry is still a beast and may keep his appeals going into November, but he is always an injury concern. Smith has no QB nor offense, so his value is at an all time low. Once (if) Ward gets healthy, I would argue he is more valuable than Smith. He's Big Ben's go-to guy. After a brief hot spell, Bowe is not worth much as a rookie receiver with QB and line problems. Peterson/Henry>>>Smith/Bowe, but with Henry's looming suspension, it may a little closer. To summarize: Peterson>Johnson>Boldin>Ward>Smith>Henry, but short term: Peterson>Johnson>Henry>Boldin>Ward>Smith
