Right now it looks like Adrian Peterson has it locked up. Poor kid. I was really hoping he'd be able to stay healthy...

If he keeps on behaving himself right through the Super Bowl, TO could get it. As you are all well aware, he loves he some he. Believe that.

As for sleepers, I'd lean towards Plaxico Burress on the Giants or TJ Houshmandzadeh of the Bengals. They both strike me as guys who'd love to make the cover.

Any other candidates? POSITIVE it won't be a Patriot. Maybe some young up-and-comer from the defensive side of the ball?

Aside from Peterson, Brady seems to be the likely candidate, especially if he can keep up throwing so many TDs. Maybe the Pats won't let one of their players be on the cover - I don't know. But there really aren't any other likely candidates. Uminyora, maybe?

It depends on what they "upgrade" and want to emphasize... I'm hoping they will improve the pass-rush moves... Considering the OL play has improved so much, we should have more options as far as getting to the QB....

    Maybe a guy like Osi?

I would love Osi on the cover, but really If the pats go undefeated and Brady gets the Superbowl MVP, I see no reason why he can't get it. Besides if the Madden curse is real, why would we not be rooting for Brady on the cover? I would love AP to get it if there is no Madden curse. Besides, I just need the disk in my PS3, i don't have to see Brady's face on the plastic cover. I can just throw it out or put it in storage till trade in time...

the way AD is going into tackles (head down) plus Madden cover is not a good combination. I like him, i hope he?s as smart as LT.

Brady for Madden 09!!! Let?s check out, what Matt Cassel can do!

Sleepers my top sleepers are Braylon Edwards and Patrick Willis.

    Peterson seems likely.

But they haven't done a wideout in a while could be Moss.

just a thought....a white player has never garnished the new cover of Madden since they started placing players on it instead of Madden himself...Looks like that excludes Brady

    Eddie George
    Daunte Culpepper
    Marshall Faulk
    Michael Vick
    Ray Lewis
    Donovan McNabb
    Vince Young

    Favre?

You know, as long as the 'Whites Need Not Apply' thing is over-ruled.

Maybe the NFL will pressure EA to change their policy and put Pennington on the cover, knowing that the League's actual stars will be safe.

Either that or put Bruschi on so he strokes out again.

With the weird exception of Lewis, there is quite the QB/RB/QB/RB switchoff going on. I guess we can all expect Peterson to be the cover boy. It'd be just my luck for such a talented player I love having in fantasy.
