Cleveland - Yankees swept the season series against the Indians, but didn't face Captain Cheeseburger Sabathia, and they would face him twice in a 5 game series. Sabathia and Carmona have no experience in the Postseason, although that doesn't really matter. Anaheim - A team that some Yankees fans worry about, myself included...Play extremely well against New York, and we all know the track-record of letdowns the Yanks have had against Anaheim. Good lineup, excellent, excellent manager, and good bullpen... Would rather face who? Or just play whoever the hell comes up...
I'd rather face Cleveland. Anaheim always gives us fits. Yankees should be confident going against Cleveland, and its also a lot less traveling and time change.
Really don't have a preference. Maybe a slight, slight lean towards facing Anaheim, but it looks like it's going to be Cleveland.
id rather face cleveland. 6-0 vs them this year, although they didnt face sabathia. but also, like dwalsh mentioned less traveling time.
I just don't want to face Anaheim in such a short series. Even though the Indians have two great pitchers I would much rather face them. Assuming we get the wild card and play Cleveland here's what I am expecting happens: Game 1/2: They split the first two games Game 3/4 @ NY: Yankees are either win both, but at least win 1 Possible Game 5: I would really expect a veteran Yanks team to win this, but hopefully we can win the series (against whoever) in at least 4 games :beer;
The only team with a winning record against the Yankees since Torre took the reigns is the Angels. I want Cleveland. Yes, you have to beat the best to be the best, but we're looking at playing the better team (The Sox) in the ALCS if we pass the first round anyway. LAA scares me.
How could anybody want Cleveland and face Sabathia and Carmona twice on normal rest? Are you guys crazy? We haven't faced Sabathia at all since eary September 2005. That means Melky has never seen him. Not sure if Cano has or not or who else may not have ever faced him. We are just asking for doom unless we get really lucky. The really strange thing that may happen though is that if Boston ends up with the best record they may pick the 8 day format so that Beckett and Schilling both get to go twice since nobody else who will probably be in that rotation is doing very well. If they do that helps us. If Cleveland wins it there is no doubt they will pick 8 days.
