personally i think penny is done due to his shoulder but if he comes back great but it is unrealistic. Ramsey will be a good start for the Jets he didnt really get a shot in Washington. I say Ramsey will be are starting QB with Clemens not far behind. Ramsey has the Arm and is good at accurecy could be better but he has an arm. Do you guys argee or disagree?
I have to agree however, who knows if Tangini will carry 4 QB's. I highly doubt it. I think at this point Bollywood is the one on the bubble given Ducky's extension and Ramsey's one year Rental status. I see Ramsey starting until he reverts to form, then if Duck isn't ready, the new kid will see significant action.
Chad Pennington will start if ready week 1 if not Ramsey will start the first few games then Pennington will take over from there.
Trust me Ramsey is not a 1 year rental he may be the Furture of the Jets. If any one is going to be a 1 yr. rental that is Penny. Penny didnt have a strong arm to began with and after to sugeries its gotta suck so Ramsey may be the Jets Qb this year and years after that.
Pennington, Ramsey, Clemens... by mid season... Pennington, Clemens, Ramsey... then if Penny gets hurt again, Clemens will start.
i feel that pennigton wont be able to play at the beginning of the season so its down to clemens and ramsey.. i think the jets will bast their decision solely on preseason.. its going to be intersting on who starts..
If that's the case then we will have the 1st pick overall next year. It will most likely be ramsey with penny if healthy enough as the backup. This regime owes him nothing and will not show favoritism towards him. If clemens sees the field at all this season it will mean that it will be a repeat of 05.
Name me one QB who ever came back from the type on injury pennington had. Now find one who did it twice. If it wasent for the contract bradway gave him he would of been cut already.
Exactly correct. If it wasn't for his contract he would certainly not be a Jet. He is gonna have one last chance though. I believe he will either get hurt, suck or play just averagely and lose his job. I expect Kellen Clemens to be the starter in 07'. (Hopefully)
Not trying to sell Pennington short, but Duck wasn't working with alot of arm strength to begin with. His brains and Hackett's system, not to mention the league not knowing his tendencies, contributed alot to his success in '02. I just don't see Duck coming back to anything near that level of play ever again. Backup? perhaps in a place like say, Arizona or a dome team. He's done as a successful starter in the AFCE where every CS knows him..
I want to say Penny, but after seeing how Mangini talked about him today, I think it may be time to start dealing with the idea that he is done. It sucks, not because he is extremely talented or anything, but because he waited patiently behind Vinny, then when his chance came, he stepped in, and stepped up. Ever since, he has been the epitome of toughness. I have to go with Clemmens. The Tangini was overeager to make sure they got their hands on him. They see something there that makes them believe this is the guy. I figure Ramsey will be the QB at Tenn. Depending on his ability to not collapse, he will be there until around mid-to-late October. Then Clemmens will get his shot. If Ramsey collapses early, I think Bollinger will be called on to fill in. (Wouldn't it be interesting if he excels?) If Penny is ready before late October, I figure he will get one last chance. I hope he can do well, but I don't have the same confidence I had as late as this morning in that. No matter what, I see Clemmens getting at least 3 starts this year. It would take an unbelievable performance by one of the first three QBs to stop Clemmens from getting the reigns. I wouldn't mind seeing it for sure, but I doubt it. I just hope the faith Tangini has in this kid is worth it.
