I hate to join in on the overabundance of head coach threads, but I find myself very confused. I've read plenty about candidates we want, and writers want, but I'm not actually sure who we are actually interested in. The following candidates have either interviewed or are scheduled for interviews (I think. Like I said, I'm not sure). Is there anyone else?

    Steve Spagnuolo
    Ron Meeks
    Brian Schottenheimer
    Bill Callahan
    Rex Ryan
BC Coach Who's Name I Can't Spell And Who's Dumb Enough to Get Fired For A Crappy Job He Won't Get Anyway (or Jags, for short)

i think once Ryan is interviewed then the Jets will really know what they want to do.

I think they are waiting for Ryan/Spags to be eliminated then the picture will be much clearer. Also the possibility of Shanny or even Cohwer coming back into the picture, even Billick. I trust they are hitting a homer with this hire.

Interesting...I could see that. I wonder how long the decision takes though.

I thought this thread was titled "Are the Jets Actually Interested In a Head Coach?" and my answer was 'probably not'.

As of now I don't think there is any clear favorite.

    nobody knows

just because someone has been interviewed doesn't mean the jets are still interested

just because somebody hasn't been interviewed doesn't mean they won't be

    etc

it's not like the jets are going to say flat out who they are interested in

But they aren't going to hire someone they don't interview (at least that's what I hope), so who they interview is pretty important.

Woody wants Brett Favre to be a player coach ala Pete Rose.

Yeah I think because no coach has really done it for the FO yet, they will continue to look and IMO will be most impressed with Rex Ryan.

I really really hope the Ravens lose this weekend so Ryan can put on one hell of a show for an interview with us. He is the guy I want above all.

Absolutely. Once Ryan is interviewed, I think (not based on anything other than a gut feeling) that they offer him the job or they wait for Spags to be available.
