Before you say this is a ridiculous trade read the scenario. This guy's starting QB is Tony Romo. I have Brees, Young, and Eli Manning This guy is sitting on Harrison along with 2 other good recievers. He is desperate for a QB. Romo simply isnt a strong #1 QB. Due to this I will propse Vince Young for Marvin Harrison straight up. Normally i would say that is ridiculous but in light of his circumstances I would think he should pull the trigger because young can possibly be top 5 this year.
After reviewing the details I have to agree that this trade is fair but at the same time it's lopsided because you're basically giving away a guy that's going to score points but in return you get a guy that will score points as well. I disagree that it's not fair but I do agree that it's not fair to both of you.
I think Romo could be a better option then Vince Young this year. If he gives up Harrison for Young hes a fool.
1) You should propose it because you never know he may be desperate enough as you said. 2) He should not accept the trade because that is horrible value. Young will not approach the top 5 in QB points unless a) your league is terribly weighted towards rushing touchdowns over passing touchdowns or b) ten other Quarterbacks in front of him get injured. I think Young is clearly your weakest QB and Harrison must be his strongest WR. Therefore he should not settle just because he doesn't have a great QB. Think about it value wise. Would you trade you likely 2 round pick for someone's likely 7th round pick? Probably not pre-season but maybe if the stats dictate it later on.
his other recievers are terrell owens and issac bruce. in this league you start only one QB. my starter is drew brees and if i trade young i still have eli. i wouldnt lose points. whereas he would gain points and keep his other 2 strong WR's. what if i propose young and terry glen for harrison
He would lose points by giving up Marvin Harrison I would say throwing in another WR might help but who knows. Each GM is different.
If this guy accepts your proposal, he is an absolute idiot. As Rambo said, he's trading his 2nd round pick for your (around) 7th round pick. It would honestly be the worst pre season trade I've ever seen anyone make in any league of any format. Plus, Romo may very well (and I believe he will) end up being better than Young. I actually don't think Young will be very reliable at all.
I wouldn't take Young if you gave him to me for James Adkisson, who I accidentaly drafted in the 23rd round!
Romo is a very solid option in fantasy this year.. you don't need a top 5 QB to win. Manning Palmer Bulger Brees Brady McNabb (maybe) crapshoot...
