We have five main guys on this squad that might be cut for cap space, which of those, if not all or none, do you make to add some more space?

Harvin and Johnson. The production doesn't equal the money.

I'm saying Harvin at that price.

Please keep Pace. 2 mil is not a big deal this offseason and he's been a productive veteran leader for a long time. Even if we take an Edge Rusher at 6, Pace could be a mentor while still being able to contribute.

Percy Harvin could become a star playing for us but I'd let him test FA first and save the 4th..Decker and Kerley can't be our starting WRs next year..I'd sign him to a proper contract in Free Agency and still bring another WR in.
We'll see what the FO does with Johnson, he was running harder than Ivory towards the end of the year. He's a goner if Gailey brings over Spiller.
Give Breno one more year before cutting him. Hopefully he plays better next year he might do better at guard..was one of the worst starting RTs in the league last year and was responsible for a lot of the pressure put on Geno.

Harvin and Johnson. Pace and Babin at right around 2 Mil isn't bad at all, and Breno is ok I guess.

No way Harvin and Johnson should count for 15 Mil against our cap this year. No way. Both should be gone.

Calvin and Chris Johnson make the most sense.

Babin was a great pickup for the Jets and I think he'd continue to produce in Bowles defense given the similarities between what he does and Rex does

    Agreed

Calvin has been such a solid player on this team, but with Babin outplaying him considerably, it's time to go forward with just one old vet at OLB.

CJ is a no-brainer; excellent draft class at RB and Gailey might wanna go after CJ Spiller, who was dynamic with him.

Percy at that salary: no way. Maybe at like 4-6M/yr if that's realistic, but I think this new regime would prefer to save that money and the higher draft pick and opt for CJ Spiller as the playmaker. Plus, they'll have a nice pick of WRs at #6 even if Cooper was gone

Breno's salary for 2015 is guaranteed.

We can't cut him until next year.

Fuck CJ, I really want Harvin to stay but cut at that price and Pace just because he's getting older and I think someone can do his job either cheaper or we can upgrade.

Fuck it. I say cut him anyway. Guy is dogshit. A John Idzik FA selection. Eric Winston would have been a better pickup.

As for Breno, at his salary, impact on the cap if cut, and level of play last year, he's not a bad keep for 2015 IMO. He's probably about an average RT and is a serviceable player.

Keeping him gives the team one position that isn't urgent to address this off season, providing more flexibility. Then they can draft an OT for the future, but wouldn't have to force him into action prematurely.

I would really hate to lose Harvin :/

Guy is a huge playmaker. I hope he restructures. If he hits the market, he's a goner.

would definitely cut Harvin and Johnson.
their numbers don't match their impact, and the cuts clear out a lot of cap to allocate elsewhere.

Breno cannot be cut due to his guarantees.
so we keep him, but hopefully as just an expensive backup. By no means should he continue starting.
cut him or restructure down after this season.

Babin i'd only cut in the event we sign a good veteran OLB in FA (like Worilds).
otherwise i'd prob keep him for another year.

    Pace i'd keep for depth.

I voted for Pace, CJ, & Harvin, I'd also cut Cumberland.

Only 2.5 mil of the 4.5 mil base is guaranteed. So they can ask for a paycut. They don't have to do it right away though.

I read this and it makes sense but Breno is not an average RT. Bottom half by far.

For $2 mil I think we have to keep him another year. We are not going to find a decent replacement for that kind of money.
