I think this one is undeniable, Lord Stanley's Cup (although it could be overrated ). I'd rank the top 10: 1. Stanley Cup 2. Heisman Trophy 3. Master's Green Jacket 4. Lombardi Trophy (the one I'd like my team to win the most) 5. Tour de France Yellow Jersey (as sullied as it has become) 6. Claret Jug 7. World Cup (and I'm not even a soccer fan) 8. Gold Medal (there are just so damn many of them) 9. The Grey Cup 10. America's Cup _
Wimbledon Gentlemen's singles trophy. I'm a big fan of it. I do agree Stanley Cup is #1. The tradition of having it to yourself for a while is fun too.
Oh I'm sorry, this wasn't the "Favorite Trophy" thread, this was the BEST trophy thread. A trophy that has only been around for 5 or so years cannot be considered in the best trophy discussion. It's insulting to the gravitas of historic trophies. _
The football league in its original form has been around for 126 years... The premier league rebrand happened in 92
Stanley Cup is #1 for me. So much history. Plus it's immediately identifiable as the Stanley Cup just by the shape.
Sweetest LOOKING Trophy? The Prince of Wales Trophy awarded to the NHL's Eastern Conference Champions:
My favorite part is that recently maybe around 5 years ago they ran out of room to carve the title winners names on the trophy, so they added the stand at the bottom for more room.
Oh, for a second I thought this was all subjective, I mean seeing that your title is subjective in itself, one would think there is no right or wrong answer.
Gotta say, on the whole, hockey has some GREAT trophies. I remember during one of the Devils cup years, the NHL brought all of the trophies down to one of the hotels in Secaucus and they were all just magnificent. My favorite is the Vezina Trophy because that's what I played and loved seeing the names of some of my heroes from my youth listed there and have always loved the Norris Trophy because of Bobby Orr and the Conn Smythe Trophy with the old Maple Leafs Garden atop. _
