Tampa Bay will bring WR Mike Williams to San Francisco and will start him, despite this morning's arrest.

Well I mean at least it's not like the guy blew a .24 or something like that. Unless he was just really coked up which made him still act really fucked up even though his BAC was only .07.

    Two things:

    1. No one has ever had to sit out a game for a DWI

    2. He wasn't even guilty of a DWI his blood alcohol level was less than 0.08. He was guilty of the lesser crime of DUI.

He's below the legal limit so this arrest is BS. You might see an outrage against the authorities, but not against Williams.

Not that I think anyone actually seriously expected the Jets to bench him, but Edwards blew a .16 which is a whole lot worse.

    I don't care if someone blows a .74

No one gets benched for this shit. The NY media tried to play coach by going apeshit over something that has never had any effect on playing time in the NFL.

No on gtes benched(unless they are a bit player) but they should. A DUI/DWI should be grounds for an automatic suspension.

We have been through this before.

Mike Williams was not on hard knocks. He was not coached by Rex Ryan. He is not a member of the New York Jets.

As such he is not subject to higher standards and in fact nobody cares if he mowed down a group of 10 year old honor students that volunteer at the local geriatric ward.

    Can someone say double standard......................

That's a players union issue then. A team isn't gonna sit a guy cus they have to pay him anyway.

An arrest is warranted if he has alcohol in his system, is driving recklessly, and shows [other] signs of impairment. The authorities appear to have acted well within bounds.

They said that he did not pass the field sobriety test and regardless if he was under the legal limit they can arrest you for that. Is it bs? maybe but the police do as they wish as we all know.

The arrest is fine, he probably just won't get charged with DUI unless his urine sample shows a illegal alcohol content. It'll still be reckless driving which is still a serious charge

I heard he looked really stoned, and that's why they brought him in. Urinalysis pending.

A guy should be automatically suspended for driving under the legal limit? Yea that makes sense.
