Where is the love for Nugent?

Big deal...he made a bunch of chip shots.

 

The kick in OT barely made it from what anyone would consider average yardage. Why should I be dry-humping the guy?

 

Like I said...big freaking deal. The guy is a professional kicker in the NFL and a second round draft pick. I expect the chip shots. When he kicks a 50-yard game-winner then maybe I'll throw him some man-love. Until then...shut up and keep making the easy ones.

Nugent is an average kicker drafted in the second round. He made a bunch of shots that any kicker in the league could have.

he's a kicker! unless you nail a 40 + yarder in the playoffs or the Super Bowl, nobody cares -- especially when it is a game winner that only improves your record to 2 and freaking 8! it's called context.

 

This is exactly how I feel.

If we're going to praise him up and down for making FGs any pro should make, should we also rip him for kicking yet another kick off out of bounds?

I can't stand Nooge. He's a barely average kicker, picked 2 rounds too early. He can't kick with all three of height, distance, and accuracy, whether kicking FGs or KOs.

Sorry, until Nooge decides to do something signficiant, like kick a game winner that we didn't need to get within the 30 for him to have a chance, or start making kick offs that don't result in the opposition starting from the 25, I refuse to give him any credit for anything.

 

regardless of his draft position, Nugent has become just like every Jet placekicker before him.........if he doesn't screw up, we're happy.....

that 38 yarder barely made it.........it's a good thing TJ advanced the ball a few yards on those runs or that kick would've been short

The D played fantastic yesterday. The Run game looked great. We made big plays in the passing game. All of those made me happy.

He did what he is supposed to do. No great love for that. Four FGs between 19-38 yards. Good job. Try to continue not sucking.

Didn't Vinatiere, the so-called greatest kicker in the history of the NFL miss chip shots two weeks in a row and cause Indy a couple of losses? Didin't he also miss two more yesterday?

 

At this point I'll take moral victories. They are a lot better than the demoralising tripe I been watching from week to week.

 

Ohio, naturally your high on Nuge, your a Buckeye and you should be proud too. I have to say I think Nuge has been steady even if not spectacular he has missed some important kicks which could have changed the outcome of some games. I like the guy. He has improved. His measure will come when we become a team capable of challenging for Division titles etc. I will say Kickers live off confidence and he should carry on a good series of displays into the next few games. Plenty love here buddy.
