We'll see what happens with Chad soon, but where does Bollinger fit in to this equation?

I am not very excited about drafting a QB this year. I still think the game is about blocking and tackling, can't do anything else with out these 2 fundamentals. It's not very glamorous, but we need linemen.

I'd be willing to see more of Bollinger this year. The guy played with a shell of a team last year. I'd like to see what he can do with some protection and more of a running game. I noticed he could not make the big throw to win a couple of games in the end, but I think he definitely could be developed. Also he is cap-friendly. What would a 1st round QB cost us?

Anyway, what are your thoughts on Brooks?

Ridiculous. Just because BB isn't a first round pick doesn't make him garbage. I would imagine that when you get beyond Elway and Marino, there were a lot of great NFL QBs that started out as third-stringers. I thought Brooks showed poise and promise, and deserves to start the season based on what he showed us coming off the bench in 05.

Brooks Bollinger has been penciled in as the jock washer for the 2006 season.

I don't understand how you knock bollinger like that. I agree with drafting O linemen more so then a quarterback. I mean if you think Cutler is the best thing since sliced bread and he's there maybe you draft him but I'm not sold I would much rather Go D'Brick to keep Bollinger Protected this season. Has he really been given a chance. I mean what the hell he might be able to do something if he has an O line to protect him. It should be interesting to see was Schoetenheimer does with bollinger. I would make him the 2006 starter. Again assuming that Chad is not ready to start or is cut.

Looked good near the end of the season. Obviously isn't the answer but he deserves a spot on the squad. With an o-line he could probably put together some nice games.

Bollinger would not make a good full-season starter. He wouldn't get us to to the Superbowl, that's for sure. But he definitly good-quality backup, and could definitly win at least 5 games for us if our starter went down, you guys are too hard on him.

For you guys who did not like Bollinger and think he is a jock washer, what exactly didn't you like about him?

You can't honestly assess him after last season. Did you like how he threw for 327/2 TDs/0 INTs and was also sacked 7 times by Miami?? He had no protection, none for most of the season. He also rushed for like 60 yards in a game.

I can see the Jets drafting a guy like Cutler, and then he is as good as Alex Smith was for the Niners last year, and then we pay him a lot of money as well.

 in the early 90's , we had a guy just like him. jeff blake.

we cut him and he was a starter for a couple of other teams.

bolly has a better chance to help us than ol noodle arm, and at a lot less cap cost.:)

In light of Pennington getting cut/not being ready to play, Bollinger should def start over any other retreads/rookies. With our offensive line problems we do not need to throw a rookie into the fire and let his confidence get squashed. Let Brooksie keep the seat warm for whomever we draft this year. The guy isn't a gamebreaker but he can at least keep it respectable.

Bollinger is too small and is not nfl starting quaterback material. This is the NFL not the NCAA.

I say sign Aaron Brooks now.

Aaron Brooks does not fit the Mangini(Patriot) philosophy. He ain't smart. And with our lack of offense he'd be of no help. I feel like we are reaching if we go the veteran QB route. This is a rebuilding process. Going 4-12 is a strong possibility. Do whats right long term. Save the money and let Bollinger take the lumps of a 4-12 season.

He will progress intoa solid backup, every now and then when needed he could provide a bit of a spark

Brooks played decent without a line or RB, I'm sure with last season under his belt he will definately improve. Remember he actually had a higher passer rating and completion % than Eli Manning.
