Week 14 he's expected back. It's an iffy thing, though.

I know it sounds strange, but the defense seems to be playing better since Bowens took over the middle...shocking as that is.

Limited practice today... he's getting there... can't wait to have him back when the playoffs start... the more starters the merrier.

I think he is been fighting through injuries since training camp. If we can get him back 100% he is twice the player Bowen is. It is encouraging to see Bowens step up his play like he has the past few weeks.

since denver doesnt really have a strong running game, there's not much urgency to rush him back for Sunday's game. and like gsourjr said, bowens is doing fine and will continue his 'fine streak' on sunday.

i'd like to have harris back for the last miami game so he can show the nation how to blowup the wild cat so we never have to hear those two words again (except when talking about how belichek got out totally out coached by a rookie)

Bowens has been serviceable in replacement of Harris, but he doesn't have the instinct for the ball like Harris does. Kinda like Mayo in that respect

Jets S Smith, ILB Harris return to practice, status vs. Broncos unknown

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets linebacker David Harris and safety Eric Smith both returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering injuries last month.

Harris (groin) and Smith (head) were both listed as limited participants in practice in the Jets' first injury report leading up to their game against the Denver Broncos. Coach Eric Mangini didn't address their availability for the game.

Harris reportedly had surgery on his groin earlier this month after he was injured in the second quarter of the Jets' 28-24 victory over Kansas City on Oct. 26. Harris led the team with 52 tackles at the time he was injured.

Like Harris, Smith hadn't played or practiced since suffering his third head injury in a four-game span. Smith was initially injured on his helmet-to-helmet hit on Arizona's Anquan Boldin in Week 4 that earned him a one-game suspension and fine. Smith suffered another concussion three weeks later in the Jets' 16-13 overtime loss at Oakland. He left the team's game at Buffalo two weeks later after taking a glancing blow to his head and hasn't played since.

Also limited were kicker Mike Nugent and wide receiver Laveranues Coles, both with thigh injuries.
