Clearly we need to see what he can do as a starter, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. Hopefully against the Giants. Oh and pay Leon, he IS our offense!
He definitely needs to compete agains top flight db's before they can crown him as a starting receiver. I hated the fact that he got the celebration penalty after his touchdown but damn he is looking good right now.
he's a great deep threat, i wouldn't mind seeing him run a few other routes other then a streak...i agree he should start on saturday, but lets not all think this is the answer to our wr problem...we still need a number1 and not that i don't love cotch, but he isn't a true number one...
Yeah that penalty was retarded. But which of our receivers other than Cotchery have really proven themselves against top flight db's? Stuckey has some experience, but he's hardly a seasoned vet. Besides, everyone has to get there feet wet at some point.
I say Ryan gets Clowney into his office and sits him down in front of his computer and says: 'Kid, cancel the Twitter account and the #2 spot is yours this week.'
Plus he provides us with a big time deep threat which will help to keep safeties on their toes. We haven't had one of these since Santana Moss
i'm starting him small. I have a hard time seeing him put up over 50 catches this season. So I'll say Stallworth for this season. Clowney's hands are underrated. That you're right about.
And that's my main point, I want to see what he can do vs a real DB, not some 2nd string practice squad guy.
it'll be all about separation. If he can get the space, then he'll be productive. If Clowney can get the attention of a DC's gameplanning, i'd put him on the same side as Keller. Clowney takes the Safety help away over the top. Keller hits the seam or runs an out post with a LB on him who's too slow - it can be a big play. you can switch the roles of those two as well. Hypothetical playcalling is fun.
i have a lot more confidence in Sanchez than Clemens. Sanchez could freeze that Safety with that pretty shoulder fake he has and then fire into either of them for 25+ yards.
Don't know, if there has been one thing that Clemens has done well is go deep... now only if anyone but Clowney could catch teh stupid thing.
yeah its the one thing because he has a live arm. but he can't feel a rush for shit. Its aggrivating watching him play. that TD pass he threw was off his back foot, and he had plenty of time.
