Whats up with Marcus McNeill? Is he an option for RT?

I keep hearing the guy will not pass a physical soon and be cut by the Chargers. He had some type of "neck stinger" issue last season and it sounds like he hasn't been cleared to play yet. I haven't been able to find much detail at all about the injury. It looks like he was going to try and play a few days after he got it and then all of sudden he went on IR and has been out since.

He was a pro bowler just 2 years ago and he is only 28 years old. While he played LT for the chargers I believe he was a RT in college and could easily convert.

What do you guys think. Neck issues stay away or if he comes cheap its worth a shot?

I am not to familiar with the kid but the rule is if it's a low-risk deal - take it.

His health isn't an answer any of us can give but if he checks out medically then he is absolutely someone we should be looking at. I think he will end up being a better RT then LT.

I agree I think he would be a better RT too. Normally a neck thing I would say avoid at all costs but since hes only 28 I think it's worth it to bring him in and look into his health.

Great rookie campaign, then back problems and now neck problems

Nerve damage would be a good guess.

If he is cheap yes, if not stay as far away as possible

Isn't he a prototypical LT? Unlikely to be worth much as a RT, same as Brick wouldn't.
