What is the one game that you feel the Jets absolutely blew that could have put us in the playoffs if we won? For me it was the Detroit game. While I didn't think Wilson played as poorly as some here believe ,we were still up by 4 with 2 plus minutes remaining. We let them convert on 4th and 1 and not only did they convert, they scored a TD. To me, that was the one game we absofuckinglutely blew.
It's a toss up between the 2nd Pats game and the Vikings game for me. Any game where your defense only gives up 3 points, you should win that game going away. The offense was truly pathetic that game. Literally just needed one more decent drive from the offense and we could've won that game 6-3. If Berrios catches that pass in the EZ against the Vikings in the 4th quarter, I truly believe we win that game. We would've been up either 28/30-27 with 1:46 left in the game. I have faith that in that moment the D would've came up big for us and not allowed them to score.
The defense couldn't stop a 4th and 1 again Detroit. What makes you believe we would have stopped the Vikings? Just curious.
It's a fair point and I admit my opinion is based on pure faith so I don't really have a good answer for you here. Just feel like they would've gotten a stop against the Vikes when it mattered or forced Kirk into a mistake.
While I believe we should have beat Minnesota if we could have only scored a TD instead of 5 FG's, we never had the lead in that game. Against Detroit, we just needed to keep them out of the end zone. That's why I feel that game was the one we blew.
in no order — Minnesota Detroit Pats game 1 minnesota - berrios catches the ball, up with a bout a minute left? Detroit - lead with 2ish mins left 4&1 for the game, blew it pats - JFM stupid ass penalty. 17-3 into half time and we are win and in week 18 v Miami i don’t think we had any shot in the Pats game 2 unless our D scored. Prob would have lost in OT
I still can't pick a game where we never had the lead. And with Detroit, even if we gave up the first down, we would have still had amole opportunities to stop them from scoring a TD had we not let them walk into the end zone on that play.
Detroit. Jets up by 3, 2 minutes left, 4th & 1 at the 49 yard line. Even if they gained 2 yards and got the 1st down, there was the opportunity to force the game into OT. But nooooo, we're the freakin' SOJ. bleh.
Detroit. Because all you need is a stop. 2nd Pats game. All they needed was a score with the ball late in the 4th. Minnesota. Catch that td and hope to stop them. In that order for me.
I think it is all three of them. Which would have made us 10-7. But, by the same token, we got away with one in Cleveland (at least I'm sure they will think that) so giving that back would make us 9-8. We still wouldn't have got in the play-offs. Small margins.
No way is that more of a blown game than the Lions. 2 minutes to victory. We had the lead with half the field to defend. Come on.
2nd Patriots game. Tied virtually the whole game, we lost on a punt return. If Saleh had the sack to bench Wilson at any point in the second half in favor of someone who might have been able to complete a stinkin pass maybe we get into field goal territory a couple times and the punt return means nothing. But nope, Zachy-boy’s ego would’ve been bruised and we CAN’T have that!
Detroit, no question. Backbreaking. The first Pats game is a close second. Going from leading 17-3 to 10-7, ultimately losing it was also backbreaking. (And was the start of Zach Wilson's struggles). Then there were a bunch of games they easily could've won if they could've managed to find the EZ, also backbreaking.
Vikings game. I have replayed Berrios dropping that ball In the end zone so many times In my head, It's disgusting.
