Has this been announced yet? Always fun finding out who is what number. Freaks my wife out that i know who everyone on the field is by their numbers, yet i can't remember the date we met.
Dammit, he can't be #7... obviously he can't wear 12 either or 13. My guess is Milliner #27 Richardson # 91 Winters #65 (once we cut Ducasse Winters will take #62) Aboushi # 75 Campbell # 61 Bohanan # 40
He's been a waste of a roster spot, project or not this is year #4 for him and the fact that we signed two guards, drafted one possibly two more mean his days of stealing a roster spot are over.
Vlad was actually pretty solid last year and has gotten better every year. he's far from a waste of space. I like that Geno is wearing number 7 it fits him.
I would love to see Bohanon at #40 or #44 I was thinking Richardson would look cool in #90, but I could see #91 as well.
#90 was retired... Dennis Byrd. We only have 5 of them #12 #13 #28 #73 #90 It'll be a while before we do another one but the next absolutely should be #60 (Larry Grantham). Honestly it probably should have been retired when they did Namath and Maynard. Outside 2 one year guys the only guys who have ever worn #60 have all been really good players in Jets history so maybe they should keep it active... Grantham/Dan Alexander and Brick. Hard to imagine the last Jet to wear #59 was Kyle Clifton who's been retired 17 years. Nobody has worn #80 since Chrebet
Shit I am an idiot ... I knew #90 was stickin in my head for a reason. I guess #91 makes sense then eh.
We need a WR to take #88. That number looks bad ass on a receiver IMO. Maybe next year we take one of the top WRs and he takes it.
JBB, the NFL Rule Book (Rule 5, Section 1, Article 2) states that numbers worn are determined by position. In Richardson's case, #34 in the NFL is limited to RBs & DBs. For DLs: 50-79 & 90-99 and for LBs: 50-59 & 90-99. The only time a Jet LB wore #34 was Walt Michaels (later Jets HC) but that was in the early 60's before the rules regarding numbers came about in the 70's. Yes, Caster and Al Toon ("the good") as well as Anthony Becht and Kyle Brady ("the bad & the ugly").
Ducasse deserves his shot to start for this team. He's a VERY good run blocker & has come a long way w/ the pass pro. Bad draft pick or not..Jets have invested alot of time into Ducasse's development. It's time to see if he can amount to anything. The upside still remains. The interior OL depth chart is gonna be a dog fight. Look at all the guys fending for 3 maybe 4 roster spots. Ducasse Colon Peterman Winters Aboushi Campbell Shlauderoff That's quite a battle. Never mind the competition that will be transpiring at Corner,Safety, RB & of course QB. Likely a good year to make it up to Cortland. And if I can find a dialysis unit in upstate I'll be there as always!
Anyone know which of these guys has real Rob Turner potential? As in can slide to center if anything happens to Nick and play right in a pinch?
this is extremely important for us. mangold needs a solid backup. the injury bug got to him last year pretty good
If this is going to be a pass heavy offense and a zone blocking scheme I'm not sure ducasse fits. He is a mauler in the run game but his pass pro, while improved, is still subpar.
