Are to the Jets advantage vs. the Eagles this Sunday? I heard Adam Schein saying the Jets had numerous matchup advantages. I know the Eagles D is considered a little undersized and are coached by an ex offensive coach.
Well apparently if you even show anything resembling physicality against the Eagle's receivers, their entire offense gets discombobulated. Disrupt them at the line, and keep Eric Smith 50 yards back for good measure.
I can see the Eagles being a bit satisfied after a good game and not coming back with another one. Before the Miami game I was thinking it would be our luck for the Eagles to show up with their one complete game against us, but now not so much. Just a gut feeling, but they don't seem like a team with a late run in them, just a game here and there, like vs the Giants. With angry Philly fans, I can see their home being a disadvantage like ours is at the end of a disappointing season, when you go on the road you can kind of get away from that for a day.
Our physical corners vs their small WR's..we have 1 huge disadvantage and that's that McCoy can get to the outside easily and make guys miss. The middle of the field should be open because the Eagles have some pretty bad linebackers, so Keller should have a nice day if they decide to actually throw to him. And we also have Philly columnists rooting for their team to lose.
Mayhem, may be the only one on our front 7 who can catch McCoy or Vick for that matter. We need a big game from him.
The one thing I am hanging on to is that Philly really didn't outplay Miami for most of that game last weekend. Was a very deceiving score. Miami was controlling the game for a while and then just fell apart. Vick really did little, Mccoy had like 30 something yards, Maclin had a tight hamstring and was quiet. Jackson had a good game.
QFT I'm hoping Revis can cover Maclin. The DL & Maybin can keep Vick in check, and Rex has a plan to keep contain on Jackson. If those three are held in check, they shouldn't score more than 13~17 on us. It will be up to Greene, McBlack, & LT to keep churning out yardage. The LB's suck in phily and hopefully the OLine can get Greene to the second level where he can do some damage.
Shady McCoy is their offense this year. Hes an elite cutback runner who cant be brought down by arm tackles. and dangerous as soon as he gets the ball in his hands. that is the only thing that scares me about this matchup. I think Greene has a huge game against a young, undersized, and miscoached unit.
Eagles right side of the Oline is bad... The Left side is pretty good (LG AND LT..) but if we overload the right we flush vick to his left and that helps him...
McCoy scares me more. Vick will get a couple big runs I bet but I don't see him beating us throwing the ball. McCoy though is going to make people miss all day. Everyone on D needs to make sure if they see him with the ball that they don't stop going for him until they hear the whistle because too many times it looks like he's going down and people stop only for him to get through.
Why not? I can see him extending plays and making some big passes against us. I'm especially concerned with Vick extending plays to whoever Cromartie is covering, McCoy out of the backfield and Celek.
McCoy at times is scary but its really surprising, at least to me, that he doesnt lead the league in fumbles. Every game I seen him play in this season he carries the ball carelessly. Always outside and away with one hand on it. Can be easily swatted away.
Jackson is one of the only kinds of wr that Cromartie can cover. I heard Maclin might not play who would be covered by Revis anyway. He rarely uses his TE which is our weakness and he has thrown the ball terribly this year.
