Listening to Pettine's conference and he just keeps on saying how well Coleman's played and how good he is as a nickel CB (at least 4 times).
Now I agree he's been a solid blitzer and a good tackler but as far as actually covering guys (which is kind of important for a DB) he sucks donkey balls!!!

So where the hell is all the love coming from? Where are the coaches seeing all the good things we don't seem to see?

Fuck Coleman, as far as covering goes I'd rather have Wilson and Cole on the field before him. He can be a good dime because of how creative we get, but that's it!

I think it's because Coleman's good plays have been memorable highlights like forced fumbles and sacks. His bad play just results in a 30 yard catch or something that people forget about and blame more wholely on bad secondary play than Drew Coleman individually.

Lol rather having Cole on the field than Coleman.

Cole is terrible. He can't cover for shit. Coleman can cover, he just can't turn around for shit.

And the funny thing is he was talking about maybe he doesn't flash you but when you re-watch the game he always grades out so well...

that is def disturbing. colemans coverage is god awful.
its even more disturbing that the coaching staff continues to compliment players that get attention from plays that most guys could make like sacks etc.. and not those 30yrd catches^

I never understood the fascination Jets coaches have had with Coleman. He is brutal in coverage. I think he is one of those guys who does great in practice and looks impressive, but can't quite carry it over onto game day.

He's a useful guy to have on the team as a 4th corner and he's a good special teamer, but if he's covering guys down the field this Saturday, Peyton is going to find it every time and just mercilessly pick on him.

Coleman is like plague. How he's remained on this team is a mystery

Well they do have the benefit of game tape and knowing what the assignments actually where supposed to be, while we go by TV Coverage.

But by TV Coverage.. yeah he sucks balls. But he seems to be pretty good when it comes to blitzing... I almost think he should just be the wild card blitz guy, like the Falcons did with Jenkins vs the Saints. Just have one fast guy, move him around and just tell him to go get the QB ...

Hes a rare type. Bad cover guy but excellent play maker... I would rather Cole play nickle then Coleman or Wilson.

because most of you guys only watch the jets closely. alot of teams wouldn't mind having coleman around. he's a solid NFL player. not every CB can be as good as revis. Matter off act none are.

Who's a good nickleback? I think most players that would make good nicklebacks play on the outside

As we're somewhat short of elite level alternatives to call up to cover the slot on Saturday, I don't think it's a bad strategy for the CS to do whatever they can to build up the confidence levels as much as possible of the players who everyone knows are going to be targetted.
