To be honest I'm not a huge fan of Cutlers... I don't like his whiny attitude and his lack of respect for players that came before him (referring to his comment regarding his arm strength vs Elways)... but I can't deny the fact that this guy can play ball and he can play pretty damn well and his arm strength would certainly be able to handle our windy conditions...

I think B. Edwards has the potential and the right attitude to be an Elite WR in this league for years to come. Yes I know he has drop issues, but those can be resolved, and we know he has the ability to be a monster in the league.

And I"d also love to see what B. Ratliff can do, since I'm pretty high on him from what I've seen so far.... BUT, with that said....

I have to admit that if we had the ability to acquire both of these players, even if it meant trading a large portion of our draft, that aquiring these two players would make us one fcking scary ass team to deal with and would set us for a long time at QB and #1 WR.

    QB: Cutler
    HB: T. Jones / L. Washington
O-line: Brick, Faneca, Mangold, Moore, Woody
    TE: D. Keller
WR: B. Edwards, J. Cotchery, Stucky / Clowney

Don't know about you guys, but that looks like a damn good combo. And if the D is capable of doing 3/4ths of the things Rex Ryan wants it to do... then I think we could be SB contenders immedietly. And I'm NOT one to scream SB in any way shape or form... but I dare you to find me a weakness with that setup.

Yeah, that would be good. Also trade for Adrian Peterson and Anquan Boldin. Then we would be in good shape. Maybe trade for Ed Reed too. He has ties to Ryan so it makes sense.

What if we traded for J. Cutler & B. Edwards? I guess that would mean we would have Cutler and Edwards to play QB and WR for us. but why settle for those two? I say we trade for Drew Brees and Randy Moss. that's an even better combo.

    This does not seem feasible.

Seems to me that in today's NFL anything is possible. Yes this isn't Madden which is why it could be feasable. In Madden I would ask for your soul for those two players but in the NFL it's not as ridiculous.

    K. Winslow went for a 2nd and a 5th.

Rumors had B. Edwards going to Giants for Kimawuta (whatever his name is) and probably a 5th or a 4th.

Randy Moss went to the Pats for a 4th...

So yes, once again, this isn't Madden which is why its more doable.

The only issue would be the contracts and staying under the cap.

Obviously I don't know what the Broncos and Browns want for those respective players, but if we had the ammo for it, we could certainly try to pull it off.

Ok, I get it, I'm not shocked by the responses obviously. Lets revisit this thread IF these two players do end up getting traded, and then lets see if we would've had the ammo to acquire both.

no, it isn't doable. it would take an entire drafts worth of picks to get both, and some from next year, considering both players would probably go for the same value. there is no freaking way on earth that the Jets would be stupid enough to trade 4 or 5 picks from one draft just to get two players. the concept alone is just asinine.

Does your theory include a salary cap? Or just draft picks and pixie dust?

Well that would be a main stumbling block obviously, but I'm always amazed at how teams are able to manipulate the cap year after year by working contracts in a certain way... I don't pretend to know enough about it, but this would certainly be a major stumbling block to my proposal.
