I don't think Geno will play well, but what if he does? He's a free agent at the end of this season, so we'll have a decision to make. Let's say he puts up Osweiler-type numbers. Unless we make him a good offer, he has every incentive to hit the market and go to the highest bidder (though the bidding may not be that high). How far would you be willing to go to keep him a Jet?

If he plays well I believe he will get the contract Fitzpatrick refused to sign.. they won't make the same mistake twice (hopefully). You give Geno pay which would make him the highest paid back up just in case he pulls a fitz. I think Geno will be open to signing it unlike Fitz was. but if IM geno I say fuck the Jets and the shady media people that follow them for the way he was handled and treated during his tenure here. I don't want him to do that but just my honest opinion
I voted Other.. cut Geno and get Petty playing time asap. Geno is 100% done here, so why waste time? no contract is coming..
He got in the game in a blowout and couldn't even drive into FG range. Against the prevent defense he had a fumble and a terrible pick to the most overrated safety in the game. He's a disaster so who gives a shit if he puts up stats or not. Funny you mention osweiler, how's that working out for the Texans? My issue with Geno isn't only his poor QB play. It's his complete and utter lack of leadership qualities that make good QBs on any team, HS through NFL. If he plays like a stud AND shows that his teammates respect him as a leader, then prove it next year on a team friendly contract that won't handcuff them if they cut him after 2 years. I would put him on a short leash over the next couple of games. Honestly, though... we all know how this is going to end.
Honestly the best thing for the Jets is for Geno to completely shit the bed these next two weeks so we can move on to Petty.
