Since his contract is up what do you think the chances of him staying with us is? I would be VERY upset if we let him go... He is the best playmaker we;ve had in YEARS!! We had Santana as a big playmaker and we let him go! I hope we dont do the same with Washington!!

He blew it big time by not taking the (over-generous IMO) contract the Jets had on the table. Now he'll probably play on a one year contract just to prove he's healthy and can play at his former level.

I just read that his contract isn't up... never mind.

Let's see how his rehab goes....before we make any insinuations.

Unless something has changed, his contract expires at the end of the season. Assuming there is no new CBA, he will be a restricted free agent. The smart thing to do at this point would be to offer him the top tender and see what he can do for a year before locking him up long term. It hurts to say that, but he will definitely be here next year barring another team eating the picks and signing him.

His contract is up this year. The Jets need to sign him to a one year deal, then if he's back to his old form sign him long-term.

No way we let him go, he's our most explosive player.

    FYP!

Leon Washington may not be the same after this injury.

Like MB said, let's wait until after rehab.

I like Leon, I really do, but I strongly feel that he will not be a Jet next season. Jones and Greene are more than enough for us next year as they ease Greene into the role of featured back, and after that Jones will likely be gone and they can find a compliment for Greene in the 2011 draft.

What he can net for us in a trade will be a serious help with the limited amount of picks that we are left with for next season.

i have a sad feeling Leon won't be the same as old Leon if he does come back. He is one of the best players in the entire NFL. Our offense is nowhere near the same without him at 100%

Probably in the 20's where Chris Johnson was drafted

He'll be back cause he probaly wont have any other offers. He'll have one year to prove he is healthy. I agree we should just offer him up top tender. If someone is stupid to pay top draft picks for him we should take the deal (cough, cleveland, cough). If not we will welcome him back with open arms.

I am going to assume Leon will recover 100% from his injury and be with the NYJ long term.
